What will the next "witness" fad illness be??

as we know, it seems that many witnesses "suffer" from "illnesses" at times.. now , before anyone scolds me for being insensitive or unfeeling, i am not mocking those who really suffer from illnesses of any sort.

i am having a go at those that jump on the bandwagon of the popular illness, which actually makes real sufferers feel jaded.. i am referring to the way that many witnesses who are actually damaged as a result of the constant "fear.obsession.guilt" of jw propaganda, often seem to "contract the current illness going around", or blame it on that instead of looking at the real cause.. im sure it is a subconcious result of the burdensome pressure of jw life that brings it on.

instead of seeing the draining effect on their lives as being the result of witness life, they will latch on to the next illness going around.. so, what is the latest going to be?.

I have real problems with about 10% of perfumes, and have had to have an ambulance called a couple of times over the years. It blows my mind watching people claiming to be so allergic, then they show up at meetings or out in public wearing cheap paper dust mask, and even setting next to someone wearing stuff that would at least run me out the door! I have had bad lungs all my life. A few puffs from a cigarette, got me 3 days in the hospital, when I wad 12.

My X-monster had everything that came along, including toxic-shock syndrome, that was only caused by Rely tampons back in the esrly 80's, even though she never used them!

How do we set up a "Used New Bike Fund" for Terry?

is there any way we can try to start a crowd-fund to help terry get some wheels quicker than he currently can?

with craigslist and a couple of bucks from a few members we can help terry get moving.

does anyone have any ideas how we can do a "theists for terry" bike fund raiser and challenge the atheists to a bucket-head challenge?

New method of appointing Regular Pioneers!

a new arrangement for appointing regular pioneers has been announced.. in the past, a person would have to fill in a form from the society, this would have to be approved by the local elders, then this would be sent to the branch for final approval and appointment.. now it is just the local elders that approve it.

it doesn't need the branch approval any more.. they are selling it as a way to "speed up the process in order to be more effective in the ministry during these urgent times blah blah".

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?

some may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.

I am sure they put thst in print about everyone, including dfed people, was to preempt others seeing dfed ones with km's on their tablets, and going crazy! I mean, can't you just see brother toe the line draging some poor dfed sister in the back room, going off on her having the gall, to download the km, knowing it's only for jw's in good standing, and reporting time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And all the calls to borgdom!

ask any jehovah's witness you happen to see to explain the recent changes to the anointed and faithful slave, most have no ideas how they are robbing all authority from the anointed jws to keep for themselves.

they can't even explain the "overlapping generation", how can we expect them to catch the errors this dogma is teaching them.

I know of one professed anointed, that went to Brooklyn to let the rest of the gb in on the new light he had received. Upon returning home, a letter came with instructions to the local body to remove his privileges, and to mark him! I guess he raised hell while he was up there visiting! He really thought they were going to roll out the red carpet for him, and blow the trumpet's. Instead he was dfed, within a year for, you guedted it, apostasy! This was back around 82.

End dfing, after the new harder line they are drawing in the November study issue, I think not. I don't ever remember a time where they tighten the shackle, then turned around, and unlocked them!

Are Congregation Picnics still forbidden? If so, Why???

I am a lifer, 56 years of borgdom. I have been in over 25 congregation, and seen or heard just everything borg related. I was invited to bethel when I was 17, but had some health issues come up. Servent 20+ years.

I have been in congregation that were very small, and when the wt came along, all parties stopped! The main parties this was aimed at, were where a congregation had a party, and larger numbers from nearby congregation showed up, with nobody, knowing for sure who was there or even if they were jw's or not, or as in some cases, even df'ed ones showed up! One congregation I was in a short time after that, had 40 publishers, and parties over book study size were a no no! And I have been in larger ones, that as long as everyone was know to be in good standing, it was ok. They still frowned on 100+ parties, but not at weddings and the like!

Remember back in the early 80's, when at the dc the comment was made, "Brothers keep your hands off the Sisters" thry meant in inappropriate ways, not a friendly hug or things like that. Till this day you will find congregation, were no one hugs anyone!

If a boe can SCREW UP simple directions, just imagine what they do with others!

Letter of Reinstatement

i was disfellowshipped in july of 2013 in another city.

i since moved and starting going to meeting about 6 months ago in my new city.

I would just say, I feel I am ready to be reinstated! I am deeply sadden over my former course, and how badly my actions hurt Jehovah!

The less said in this letter, the better in my book. They will ask all about what happened when they meet with you. They also have to related everything back to the dfing congregation, for they make the final decision!

Have You Ever Rejected Being Appointed an Elder/MS Before the Announcement?

when i was a jw several brothers (ms) told me in private that the elders had asked them several times if they did not want to become an elder.

they said they rejected because it was too much responsibility for them.

were you ever approached that the boe wanted to make you an elder but you refused?

I was 3 times over the years in different congregation, I turnd it down each time. Being an ms for 20+ years was political enough, being careful witch elders you close to, witch ones to really listen to. Having to tip toeing around, when you have two elders with the god complex, and each hates the other! Not thst all the different elder bodies I worked with were like this, but enough were!
