You could always do a "Truth about the Truth" style information campaign, but I am big fan of freedom on speech, religion and treating adults like adults, meaning allowing them to make their own decision, even if it is a stupid one.

What would you do??
by DATA-DOG ini you knew that jws were ramping up their activities in a new language or foreign field, would you warn the public or the government?
what if it was a nearly virgin territory with almost zero knowledge of jwism?
what if your own jw family was involved?

If You Got a Call or Visit From The Elders How Would You Deal With Them?
by minimus injust curious..

I had an elder call when I was living way outside of the territory where I lived when I was DFed, he was just doing Monday morning service and tried to suggest I was no longer a JW because I didn't want to control my urge to sin, this, of course, after telling him I was DFed for apostacy for not agreeing with the doctrine.
Now I live back in the territory (or close enough to it to know the people here) and they avoid my house. I saw them walking down the street, hit my neighbor's house, look at their card and skip right over my house and go to the next one. I don't think they want to talk to me.

Religion VS Atheism and the decline of ethics and morals
by EndofMysteries inbeing back in college after leaving the borg, one of the required classes for a degree at my college is ethics.
after learning a few things, i am curious where morality and ethics is heading for the future of humanity.
i wish i could find the source again, but several weeks ago i recalled reading a transcript of a very old document that talked about when christianity was being spread in europe, it brought civility and community.

I would be interested in seeing the data showing there has been a decline in manners, morals and ethics from the 1950's to today. Were all the examples of white suburban America?

Atheism and Theism are only partly right!
by abiather intoday we know that matter and energy are interchangeable, hence they are there always in either form, they are eternal, hence requires no creator.
hence atheism is right in rejecting a creator, but failed in providing any motivation for people to do good.
religions, in their effort to provide a motivating factor for humans to do good, introduced creation stories and other myths; hence they too are right (as far as their intention is concerned), yet failed in producing any worthy resultsworld was steadily moving from bad to worse and from worse to worst!.

e = mc2
E=MC^2. It's a subtle but important difference.

Religion provides the checks and balances for members of a society who lack the self awareness to regulate themselves. If you take away religion, these individuals will go haywire because they will feel they are accountable to nothing and nobody.
As a group, religious people of any religion are not particularly worse or better than anyone else.

The ability to make hasty generalizations without breaking a sweat is a common trait of JWs and ex-JWs.
Speaking of self-referential comments....hey look!

Given that the first 9 words of the OP are wrong, I didn't bother to read further.

A gay person is serving me drinks on the flight I am on (in-flight internet = awesome). Should I be worried that his gay agenda will crash the plane? And it turns out we live in the same town and know some of the same people. Should I be worried that his gay agenda is somehow related to Agenda 21?
What IS the gay agenda, anyway?

Marriage has been universally acknowledged throughout history as a legal contract between a man and a woman in which there is emotional and sexual fidelity, along with childrearing.
Well that's just not true.
Some of the comments in this thread are disturbing...
