  the convention book released yesterday....say hi to group 2 of the 1914 generation!!

  a graph shows group 1 being fred franz john barr etc...with a group 2 consisting of the current young faithful slaves we "met" the "group ones.

  that was the crackpot theory of so-called pyramidologists.. among the men who promoted this silly idea was the founder of the watchtower publishing corporation, pastor c.t.russell.. he did not originate pyramidology, but he copied the work of the astronomer royal of scotland, professor charles piazzi smyth.

  as well as another fellow named john taylor (the great pyramid (1859) and built a grand bit of humbug theology.

  as a kid i only collected comic books until around 1962.. my collection was very important to me and i had emotional excitement at the release of a new comic--but--i made a date with 2 girls.

  on the same day and didn't have any money!

  Hi terry yes I was a collector of musical records mainly 50s/60s, but have long since stopped.

  I still have most of my collection in boxes under the stairs, and have hauled them from pillar to post still can't bring myself to part with them to the annoyance of my good lady.

  Are you a collector of jw related stuff , as you always have a lot of info'to hand. It must be in your psyche to hoard stuff.

  That being said your posts are always interesting.

  i think my earlier post " what is a fact" has run it's course.

  in this thread i would like to present the same question " what is a fact" from a different viewpoint.. many j.w children have loving parents ( that is a fact) but parents who insanley demanded unquestioning obidience to their deranged standards.. so " what is a fact" to innocent children is that a god who they have never seen nor heard, will destroy them if they dont live to the g.bs deranged standards.. so basically these children have been taught the wrong meaning of words:-.

  1...it is a fact that I choose to believe it.

  2..it does not make it a fact because I choose to believe it....conclusion;

  Not everything we choose to believe is a fact, rather the choice to believe is the fact.

  Absolutely proves my point, if a conviction is overturned because of new evidential facts then the bogus facts upon which the charge produced a conviction were never facts.

  Those who presented the original case were either duped or foolish.

  Any dispute contra ' a fact ' has to be substantiated, the ensuing arguments will determine, as in a court room whether what is presented as fact is actually s

  corroborated evidence is the key.

  Therefore the presented ' facts ' which were proved to be bogus were not ever facts.

  Our humanistic reasoning on what is fact is no different from the court room of the worlds stage.

  Anyone disputing commonly agreed fact, had better have indisputable evidence or they may be made to look foolish.

  Of course there are those who would present skewed evidence as a result of not awakening from their childlike imaginary state.

  Hi nhah;.. children have imaginations which in the context of which you speak are not facts because as a child the truth of the imaginary thoughts they have are not known to them until the developing brain begins to reason ie they have not reached the stage of properly discerning for themselves what a fact is.

  Thus imaginary friends, santa claus, fairies etc may seem real to them but can only be accepted as facts if reasoned upon ie to know why it's a fact.

  Therefore you as an adult may say what is in the childs mind eg ' moley ' is a fact to them but that reasoning is precisely because you are an adult.

  It is not the reasoning of the child therefore cannot be a fact.

  GB Doesn’t Believe in 1914 Anymore – My reasoning

  i have heard a lot of talk over the last year or so if the gb will eventually ditch 1914 and some have even made the claim that most, if not all of the gb do not believe in 1914. ive given this some thought and in the past i wasnt sure.

  this annual meeting puts 100%, without a doubt in my mind that the gb do not believe in 1914. id even go as far to say that they talked about that date and have a game plan in mind.. here is why i feel this way:.

  there were a lot of changes with the parables at this annual meeting.
