Theo Min School and Public Speaker Training Outdated...

i used to think that the theocratic ministry school was extremely valuable.. and i think it does have it's value.. but i think public speaking has changed so dramatically the last few years.. last time i went to the kh... the public speakers were speaking at a very "low" level.. i think part of the thing the current crop of religious speakers (like joel osteen, etc... they are so dynamic.. and even speakers like tony robbins.... i think the style of speaking for witness speakers has become old school.. granted - yes... they have an audience that is "obligated" to listen to them.

but they have not evolved at all as public speakers - and probably is getting worse.. most public speakers aren't glued to an outline.... just a thought.... .

Psalms 139:16... JW vs. like everyone else...

ok.... so a friend a baby and was sharing a scripture.. and i thought of psalms 139:16.. so i "google" it and i see all the "alt" translatiosn of the scripture compared to what i remember from the nwt.. the way i read it from what the other translations?.

basicaly, it favors predestination.. i feel the wt socienty has it's power through saying - "hey... god doesn't know you unless you're with us.".

but the way i read it?

John Lennon and JW... (...a credible source)

ok.... of course john lennon's would be 70th birthday was yesterday.. so just a discussion - and please - no hate'in... just some discussion.. but i personally know of a very high ranking jw member (think highest you can basically get...) who related this story to me how some jw's talked to john lennon shortly before he wrote "imagine.".

when he told me - he did preface it by saying it was "hearsay..." that he couldn't prove it.. but listening to the song tonight - i could see how it could be possible.. thoughts?.

Staying "Loyal" and King David/Saul Question...

ok.... had a good discussion with a jdub friend.

good friend.. and i gave the argument, "hey.., loyalty to god trumps loyalty to organization.".

basically, that when your concious disagrees with "god's organization" that you should stand up and say something.. then he gave me a good point about king david and how saul was the organization at the time but since it was god's appointed one - that david didn't work to "overthrow" saul.. thoughts?.

wow.... i forgot how delicous birthday cake is.. my step-daughter just had her 6th birthday.. we had cake.. i forgot how delicous it is.. i've had cake over the years - but mostly wedding cake.. nothing is better than a nice cheap-a$$ sheet cake with frosting.. ahhh... the simple things in life.. confucious..

Watchtower in Michael Jackson's Will???

wallstreet journal today is reporting about mj's will.. they are saying that it's his mother, three children and "one or more" charities.. what do you think the odds are that the wt is one of them?.

i remember for the jackson's victory tour (a very long time ago) - that they donated most of that tour money to a "unnamed" charity.. and i always suspected that the wt were the recepients.. and thoughts?.
