I feel very sorry that you've been put through this cruel type of religious witch hunt. The Elders in my opinion, aren't nearly as concearned for you as they are about obaying the cold hearted Watchtower Beast that rules with an iron fist. Good luck to you, and don't let them bring you down. I really hope this is your turning point away from the Org.

i was concerned about my friend and worried as they hadn't returned my calls or emails, so i thought i would travel to see him, and find out if my bad feeling was nothing to worry about.. he had died and i will miss him, i knew, my insides knew and it hurts.. he was my secret and it seems to hurt more as i have no-one to share the grief with.

Help in Disappearing!!!!!
by Coqui inmy family and i have been away from the meetings for about three years but we still are watched carefully and get the occasional "we miss you" visit.
we will be moving out of state 1,500 miles away.
in todays internet age with access to so much info, phone #'s and adresses is it really impossible to truly escape?

Sure the Awake and all the publications are getting dumber.or more simplistic. When old Freddie F was doing some of the writing it was the exact opposite. Does anyone remember studying the old Babylon book? We'd stager out of the bookstudy more confused than when we went in, what with all the types, anti-types,beasts and other assorted loonies. Now it's all pretty pictures of paradise, you dont seem to see as many pictures of the Big A any more.

WILL MY CHILDREN DIE ??
by dontnowat2believe ini was driving in my brothers car with him about 5 years ago (hes now an elder), we were in the middle of a row when he turned to me and told me that when i die at armageddon that i dont need to worry because he said he will look after my kids, this upset me to the point that i made him stop the car and i got out.
a friend of mine (who is a jw) i spoke to about it told me that he was just trying to be cruel and then went on to tell me that any children who are a part of a witness family would die at armageddon.
i would like to know if anyone knows if this true ?

Sure it's a fear tactic and totally messed up. The witnesses believe that God is the most loving entity in the universe so how could he do such a wicked thing? He won't. The trouble is the JWs have invented this whole Armageddon/Paradise thing which leads to all kinds of stupid scenarios that they can't answer without making God sound evil. I've long believed that once you strip away all the lovely pictures of butterflies and happy fruit pickers the witness message is revolting. Think about it, the devil as portrayed in the bible hasn't done anything as bad as the JWs would have you believe God is going to do soon.

I'm sure I would have quit the witnesses but maybe not so fast and with so much assuredness. Being able to read past watchtower literature was a real eye-pener for me. Plus I knew there had to be more people out there with the same doubts I had, but before the internet how could we really connect? Yep the internet sure has been a blessing..LOL

There were some good things about the organisation...
by Do I Stand Alone? ini have read a number of experiences in this discussion forum and quite frankly, i would have to agree that many, if not all, were pretty terrible experiences if not all together traumatic.
i know that my personal 9-11 tragedy resulted in finding out that the watchtower society was involved with the united nations.
that pretty much said it all as far as my "career" in the organisation was concerned.

There were some good things about Mussolini's Italy... He made the trains run on time...but come on, any good "ends" do not justify the "means" when it comes to the WT.
