I Think I have Found a Way to Litigate
by Simon Templar ini have been thinking about how the wtb&t society bullies all of its members into submission with the threats they use (by practice), i.e.
“if you do this we will df you and you will be shunned”.
“if you da yourself, we will make an announcement and your friends, relatives and family will abandon you”, etc.

How can the law argue with someone, like you relative, who swears and insists that he does not want to have anything to do with you and declares to be sound of mind and free of pressure.?
I think other have tried to make the same argument already.

JWs and nuetrality - Trump
by Listener infor those that are receiving messages of doom and gloom from jws, they might like to remind them about obedience to their organization and what they were told in the april, 2016 watchtower which was studied only a few months ago, in august.these are some of the highlights-.
although the bible teaches that god’s adversary, satan, has authority over political systems, it does not say that he directly controls each leader or official.
(luke 4:5, 6) we should therefore avoid implying that a particular official is controlled by the devil.

Or remind them that they would be just as excited about the end being near if a liberal candidate would have won. They would be chanting about sexual perversion and abortion as a sign of the end.

What if one of the GB members suddenly needed blood?
by StarTrekAngel inthere is not much to be analyzed.
in a cult enviromment the leader will always look up for himself.
he would never hesitate to break every rule to save his own skin.

There is an easy way to do that... go to other threads.

There is not much to be analyzed. In a cult enviromment the leader will always look up for himself. He would never hesitate to break every rule to save his own skin. This most likely will and should, by definition, extend to health as well. I am sure that if such situation came up, then he would uphold his right to make a choice that fits his consciousness. Even if that means taking blood and loosing his privileges in the process. Although that would speak mountains of the true strength of his faith, many witnesses would probably see this as if Jehovah is cleaning the ranks of the GB.
However, would they or what if they were to be subjected to the same pressure as everyone else is? What if the HLC gets there first and enforces the no blood card. Point is, would there be any situation where his wishes are handled by a third party that bears no consequence on the outcome and have them think "I am at the hand of this nut-jobs who believed everything we ever told them and now my life is in their hands and they are ready to let me die"

HLC and privacy rights
by StarTrekAngel insome time ago i used to work at a hospital.
when my family members would receive treatment at this place, often times they would ask me if i could look up information for them regarding their health.
i always had to tell them that privacy laws did not allow me to bypass the hospital's administration.

So, in a nutshell, If people sued hospitals more often over violation of privacy rights, this would potentially stop. Not that this is 100% the hospital's responsibility but they sure could help the situation in some cases may be even save a life.

Some time ago I used to work at a hospital. When my family members would receive treatment at this place, often times they would ask me if I could look up information for them regarding their health. I always had to tell them that privacy laws did not allow me to bypass the hospital's administration. If they needed information, even if they were entitled to it, they needed to go or call the place. I was in IT and I could not do this for them ( I did have access to the data). In one occasion, the said patient was my own kid. After getting some blood work done, I was anxious to know the results. I walked over to the lab and ID'd myself as the parent. They lab refused to give me the results because the doctor had not reviewed them yet. All I had to do was walk over to my office and pulled them up in my computer. Yet, technically I was not allowed to do this and if caught I could get fired.
My question then is, how does the HLC force themselves into hospitals and begin to get involved in the health matters of witnesses? I know the patient may allow a third party to be involved but I read somewhere that witnesses are wary of even taking blood in secret, for fear that the HLC may find out.

So the Watchtower did not really move to Warwick because Jehovah told them to... It was more like everyone else is doing it so there might be a good reason.

Imperfect Spiritual Food
by berrygerry inthe feb 2017 wt is being reviewed here because of the "neither inspired nor infallible" potential of the gb.. https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6237447308443648/major-doctrinal-changes-must-on-way.
this indeed has been stated in the past.. an equally interesting phrase in that paragraph is: "of course, jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food.".
again, wt is using the "jesus never said" line.. what would make more sense is: "jesus never said that the food would be imperfect or harmless.".

I think I figured it out... do not read that article. It is designed to eliminate apostasy by means of causing strokes due to the irony of the whole f.... thing.
