Hi TMS,
I read in some of your postings that you are in the RGV? is that so?
I am in the RGV as well
some scattered thoughts about the granting or denial of privileges of service as a control mechanism:.
this method of persuasion involving reward or punishment is so deeply ingrained in watchtower function, it is second nature.
although sometimes subtle, sometimes blatant, everyone from new bible study to traveling overseer is subconsciously aware of the possible limiting of his official opportunities to serve god and his brothers.. .

did you know that job's family celebrated birthdays?
the word translated "his own day" at job 1:4 is the same word translated "day of his birth" in job 3:1. .
seems deceptive, does it not, to change that translation.
i have been thinking, it is a lonely place in the real world knowing ttatt but if we have a phrase we can unite, support and help each other.
the question we will ask is:.
what's your favorite bible verse?
hi all, what do you think about the experience on page 4 of 2016.2 awake?.
maria, who is one of jehovah’s witnesses, was publicly insulted by a prejudiced woman, who caused quite a commotion.
but instead of retaliating, maria calmly continued on her way.
The experience may well be truth. I don't believe that is relevant because it is true no matter what in the eyes or ears of the attendees.
Also, what you all are saying, I agree with. It may not have anything to do with religious belief, but keep attacking a person on his/her religious grounds an as long as such person does not retaliate, he or she will draw followers. This is part of the tactic and part of the reason it plays well.
Attacking religious nuts only drives them (and those around them) further into the nut case.
the above quote from the wb&t ofbritain annual return tothecharity commission.. from what i have read they do little else.........

i just watched a show on tlc..where a man killed his mother, and father.
after the show was over, and everyone said their comments....one comment stuck in my head.
the comment that stuck in my head was" he not only lost his parents....he lost everyone associated with himself"... .. i thought to myself.......it happens in kingdom halls every day, and not for murder......but for something petty....like smoking a cigarette.. any views on this?.
Shunning or loosing a loved one (by means of shunning or being shunned) is not a foreign concept. We shun family members, I am sure all of us do. The essence runs down to the reasons for shunning.
A member of our extended family (wife's cousin) committed murder. He had a wife and several children. The wife worked three jobs while he stayed at home "taking care of the children". The truth is he would drop off the kids with his mother and he would go fuck around. He ended up fathering a couple of more children with another woman and eventually, for reasons unknown to us at the moment, he killed her and burned her. He was eventually caught by the police and is now in jail awaiting trial. We want nothing to do with him at the moment, although I would say that if he ever gets out of jail and happens to come home, with his family for a BBQ, he will be welcomed in. But should not expect any assistance from us at the moment. His family is breaking ties with the rest of us because we don't want to help with the bail.
Shunning someone should be your personal choice, based in your values and belief and not in the values and belief or direction handed down by someone else.
matt.
13: 24 - 30 contains a parable spoken by the lord jesus himself.
in it jesus spoke of a symbolic sower who sowed symbolic seeds in a symbolic field.
You lost me at "all interpretations have been literal up to this point"
If the elements mentioned, like the seeds and the weeds, were not understood to be literal seeds or weed but rather symbolic representations of people and events, then is not literal, is symbolic. Then the fire should be symbolic as well. Wether it represents total destruction or represent eternal punishment, I would not debate but the fire isn't literal in my view, is just another symbol.
how disturbing is this?

not going to disclose a whole lot of details because it will implicate someone else without their consent.
someone very close to me, who is a non-baptized publisher (for almost 3 years now), went to work to the local assembly hall.
recently, they removed the existing hvac machines and replaced them with new ones.
This are the external units only. I would seriously doubt that such piece of engineering designed to last so many years can be crippled by mold (provided that they are maintained)
Edit: did not mean to say the equipment itself would fail because of mold. Meant to say that it would be no longer viable for use.
