Did Noah really build an ark?

The entity known as Noah made an appearance in the sphere of influence circa 1940's. I don't presently know if he's still alive, nor where he is. (It does not matter anyway). If memory serves me correctly there were three floods... circa 3500BC and two around 10000BC.

The floods were designed to remove man-kind from his own devices, and place his reliance on the Creator; in effect reconnecting mankind with that which he had lost. The flood only occured after repeated warnings went unheeded.

The promise that there would be no more floods is in indeed correct. Fire is next and will likewise place mankind in a position in which his own devices are removed, and reliance must be placed with the creator again... a further reconnecting... again.

Why don't victims tell about their abuse.

I kept quite because I knew I was capable of dealing with the abuse. I simply said to myself, "It's not my fault. What he did was wrong. I will never place myself in such a situation again, and I will make sure that my friends and family keep their distance from Person X". Which I did. Whenever the subject came up about person X, I just said, "I'd rather not visit there anymore, I didn't enjoy myself". My parents didn't ask further, and I didn't feel the need to explain it any further. This was on two occasions when I was about 9 and again around 12.

Although young, I often remember feeling superior to my parents; more intelligent, almost as if they were "my" parents and I had to look after them and their feelings. Even as a boy of 3 years old I remember humouring my father. Now tell me, how many children of 3 years old "humour their father' to spare his feelings? None. I'm very different in some respects.. and so too are my reasons for not telling them about the abuse.

I could tell them even now, but in all honestly I can't see the point. If anything, they are less capable of dealing with it now, and I am even more capable than I was when a boy.

I suppose I just wanted you to see a different type of reason for ?not telling?. ?Feeling superior to your parents, and thinking I can deal with it better than they can?

I LOVE the diversity of these message boards, the good, the bad, the mistakes, the whatever!!! It's great - people are different here... everyone says what they want.

I never became a JW because every time I went to the Kingdom Hall and spoke to people, it was the same bloody conversation every time. Everyone spoke the same. Everyone thought the same. No-one got upset, no-one got angry. Everyone seemed to be treading lightly afraid to say or do the wrong thing. That used to infuriate me... sometimes I felt like throwing a punch just to see if anyone would react... even to see if they could react!

I love the fact Puternut can say what he wants... I love the fact others can demand deletion of comments... I love the fact people can appeal a process that may or may not be flawed! I reckon this is all good healthy stuff! It encourages things to be out in the open, to be cussed, and discussed. This is very healthy human behaviour!

(Puternut, I've been lurking a little bit and reading many of your posts. I love your contributions to these boards.)

cats may well live with us, but they don't live like us.

i've noticed over the years that how we perceive stuff and how cats process the same info is often so different as to be almost alien.

Bowl Check - Perform as often as possible.

Bowl Stare - Stare at bowl intently in an attempt to will the food into existance from thin air. Keep watching for sudden signs of movement in case food magically appears from nowhere. Possible cat prayer said at this point.

Bowl Look - The look you give a human, when staring at the bowl achieves nothing.

Bowl Dissapointment - The look that results from being ignored by staff.... *cough* human.

Believe me, if your life gets entangled with a real sociopath/psychopath, it will not be easy to spot them. They can be very personable, intelligent, charming until the knife figuratively goes into your back.

I've got to agree with Blondie on this one. Having a screwed up cognition process, coupled with irrational thoughts and major behavioural problems can actually be very far from psychotic or schizophrenia (although it certainly isn't healthy). Let's try to keep some perspective, lest we let a true psychotic into our homes. They are MUCH harder to spot than a hard core Jehovah's Witness that is just screwed up! I don't like it when other people on this board get so frustrated with certain individuals that they label them incorrectly. By and large the JW's are pleasant loving people compared to a psychopath or person with full-blown schizophrenia.

Yes... as an [ex?] Jehovah's Witness you're good at spotting propaganda aren't you..... NOT!!

For the record I drank about 2L a day every summer for 6 years before it began to cause itching, sometimes washing this down with Potato chips that also had 951 (intense sweetner) in them. I'm not suggesting everyone reacts this way, although I have certainly read other stories on the Internet to confirm I wasn't alone.

I can't eat anything in the 900 range now... even though I would like too.

I drank so much Diet Coke, that I eventually I became intolerant to the Artificial Sweetener 951 made by the Monsanto Corporation... the same corporation that makes pesticides, genetically engineered foods and seeds and of course chemical weapons for the US military. Yikes! What was I thinking drinking that stuff ?!?

I break out in severe itching on my left forearm, neck and scalp. Sorry for the mental picture, but it was so bad I would itch with a fork until my skin bled and I still couldn't stop the itching. It's an artificially manufactured food product NEVER found in nature, and thus your liver is not well equipped to deal with it... or at least mine wasn't.
