I admire Lise Meitner, a woman who endured much hardship and difficulty, even betrayal, for the sake of science, and who showed strength of character and principles.

Michael Landon. I don't know why exactly, he just seemed like a pretty good guy. Joe Satriani, for being such an artistic genius and yet when you read interviews with him, he always keeps it way real.

My adopted mom, Thelma Smith. She was part black and part jewish (can you say attitude!), she believed what she chose to out of JW doctrine, held some catholic beliefs, couldn't stop watching televangelists, but none of that is why I loved her so much. This woman truly knew what unconditional love was all about. Not a day went by went by that she didn't tell me I was beautiful and how much she loved me. She told me my other mother may have born me, but she CHOSE me, and we were kindred spirits.

When the elders called her to tell her that she could no longer speak to my brother at his DA, she told them exactly what she thought of them and that notion. No one, and I mean NO ONE could speak ill of her kids (Tim and I).

I really miss her, she died two years ago at age 86, spunky to the end.

    I love you mom!
