Hiya Marsh,
I downloaded your Ark article to my Palm, I'm reading it when I grab a smoke break at work. When I get through it, I'll respond. (Maybe in a new thread)
Dave I had the most wonderful experience ever and I felt so loved and it was like a huge weight had been lifted .In that moment I knew God and knew that He knew me,It was the most amazing thing and I will never forget it even though I did not know then what was happening to me.I told an ex JW friend and he said to me "you have been born again" I asked him what he meant .He said he also had a similar experience .This poor exJW man at one time was so ill he sat down in the street with a coat over his head his family had rejected him.Now he is a wonderful brother In Christ.
It sounds like your faith makes you happy. So long as you aren't controlled by it (in the cultish Watchtower way) I would have absolutely no interest in trying to prise it away from you.
Rather, I will warn you that your "beliefs" and your "faith" are perhaps too thoroughly entwined. For instance, you have faith in God. And you have faith that the Bible represents him. But within that faith framework you also have some beliefs. You believe for instance that there was a global flood. You believe Adam and Eve were the first humans. Those are beliefs that are truly separable from your faith.
The reason I bring this up is that you will very likely encounter evidence at some point that proves to you that a global flood 4,000 years ago is an impossibility. At that point, your belief in the flood will be destroyed. If you don't hook your beliefs and your faith together, then when a particular belief has to change, your faith stays in tact. (LittleToe is a wonderful example of what I'm talking about.)
Thank you for your testimony, I appreciated it.
Dave
