Abaddon, I feel the need to munch on a chocolate bar to get through all this...thanks for reminding us of this important substance! And thank you for telling all on the board that because we need this we really are not bad...just give us a chance...you'll like us, really!

You say you lived with absolute certainty as a JW.me too but we were deceived.We had WT glasses on.It is very hard for us to have all our beliefs shattered.But essentially I have always been a believer in God,Jesus,The Bible.I was raised very strict RC,Nuns priests everywhere.In fact I was going to be a Nun when I was approaching my teens.I wanted to be one of the 144,000 then and be a bride of Christ.
I got married instead and had children.Years later going through a very difficult time in my life I began to look into other things,New Age,Bhuddha,Hindu,pagans finding the god within and all of that.I was friendly with a lady at school but did not know she was a JW,we used to just chat ,she gave me a book to read the 'Truth book'I think it was so that's how I got involved with JWS in 1979.I studied with a super duper headmaster who answered all my questions and turned me right away from RC and everything else.I remember the Ray Franz thing but I was a baby Jw then and it was all covered up.I actually thought it was a privalege to be a JW.
Now I am free and it was the Lord Jesus Christ who set me free ,I fought all the way out of the WT and had to have everything proven to me I even played exjws off against each other.I finally went to an exjw convention and here I met many other jws,Pioneers,POs MS,and rank and file.and I still fought to make it right.Eventually I got the real truth from my own Bible reading starting with the NT.I really prayed about this and fell to my knees then asked for forgiveness.I saw I was a gross sinner in need of a saviour I saw who my saviour was.I gave it all over to the Lord.I was broken,all alone no-one told me,it was just me and the Lord.
Dave I had the most wonderful experience ever and I felt so loved and it was like a huge weight had been lifted .In that moment I knew God and knew that He knew me,It was the most amazing thing and I will never forget it even though I did not know then what was happening to me.I told an ex JW friend and he said to me "you have been born again" I asked him what he meant .He said he also had a similar experience .This poor exJW man at one time was so ill he sat down in the street with a coat over his head his family had rejected him.Now he is a wonderful brother In Christ.
Dave there is a God a loving God who cares for us,we may not have all the answers to everything yet,but at least now we are free to ask the questions.

God gives us repentance ,a 'change of mind' He is merciful and just Jesus is the Son of God and His death on the cross saves us.He rose again from the dead.Jesus promises he will never leave us or forsake us Hebrews 13: 5 Ephesians 2: 8-9 'for it is by grace you have been saved,through faith-and this not from yourselves it is the gift of God not by works,so that no one can boast'

Acts 4:12 and for Nic. I actually have seen child healed by a simple prayer I was amazed but the same Lord who healed all those years ago still heals today.
