I never said I was glad...just said it was justice...YOU ASSUMED that I was glad.

JUSTICE usually makes people glad. And the thread is titled "fantastic end to police chase." That may not be yours, yours was "instant justice!" That sounds pretty enthusiastic.

Anyway, as I stated before I don't know how this is justice. How does stealing a car equate with death?

Nice Nathan...from the story I guess you see that they were carjacked at gunpiont and raped and then made to beg for their lives but they were shown no mercy, murdered in front of their 15 children and then called profanities...

YES, I made all that all up. No reason why some kids should be dead and people should be thankful.

    CountryGuy:

Ummm... death a fitting punishment for stealing a car? Hmmm, okay.

I don't understand that logic, but then again I'm not a right wing conservative.

The logic goes as follows: In the course of committing a stupid, dangerous and anti-social crime, these young men were rightly pursued by police. In an attempt to avoid the consequences of their actions, they committed another stupid act, one that led to their own demise. It's quite fitting that their stupid dangerous actions had unpleasant consequences, and lucky that this time the only people who suffered were the perpetrators. There were no innocent victims in this incident, and there are now two fewer reckless criminals in the world.

Hopefully the dead can't hear the crowing of "law-abiding citizens" anymore.

They didn't die because they stole a car, they died because they ran from the cops and did something stupid to try to evade them. While it's sad that they had to die over such a minor thing, they did bring it on themselves.

There is a video of the news story on nbcsandiego.com - on the home page, about 1/2 way down on the left side is the link- .

I honestly can't dredge up a whole lot of sympathy for the so called kids that did this. They are dead because of choices THEY made. Personal choice, personal responsibility. At least no innocent people were injured from their stupidity.

I'm surprised so many find this to be a fitting end, or fantastic.
There should be punishment for the crime, but death? I don't see any benefit to anyone in their death. There are many productive, good people in the world that have done something as stupid as stealing a car when they were younger. Not everyone who does something stupid when they're a kid becomes a career criminal.

What I don't understand is all the sympathy for the criminals. That is what they are, regardless of age, etc. They didn't care for anyone else when they were fleeing from the police at over 100 mph. Again, I am not suggesting that they deserved death for stealing a car. At the same time however, there are two less criminals out there.

Harsh as it may sound, I would rather these idiots die now by jumping over the side rail, than they car jack and hurt my family later.

One of my employees recently got car jacked. When it happens to someone you know, and you talk about it, and realize how real it was, perhaps it gives one a new perspective. I thought to myself, what if it was me? My life is in this persons hands. If they decide to pull the trigger, I will never see my kids or wife or other loved ones again. It was that guys choice to pull the gun and car jack my employee. That right there ends it as far as I am concerned. I tell you, if it was I in that situation, and I could have freed myself from the situation, and by doing so that guy would die, then so be it. It is either me or him, simple as that.

So no, I don't have any compassion to criminals. At 17one is old enough to make a adult decision on how to act. Brought up in a life of poverty and bad role models? Get over it. Make the decision to do right, and things will work themselves out.

Yes, I have compassion for the parents, as I imagine they are in mourning. However, I have to think some blame is theirs. What went wrong with the home in that the kids think it is ok to go out and steal cars and run from the police? Where are the parents here? Yes, I know that sometimes great parents have bad kids, but the majority of the time, the parents are screwed up too. My father was a probation officer for kids, and saw it all the time. The vast majority of criminal kids had parents who just didn't care, messed up on drugs, or other vices.

For those crying about how horrible this was because of their age, would your opinion be any different if they were 39 years old instead? After all, they were kids too, and are kids of someone.
