I could care less and it's none of my hubby's business. There weren't that many women doctors around when I was younger. It's only this generation that actually gets a choice (ethnic, color, gender). Having watched my sister work, I know for the doctor it is simply a job, no sexual implications at all. I am amused when a male GP or gynecologist gently asks me if I want a female aide in the room. I don't require it.

Georgia, this has been my experience as well:

I would say that in my humble opinion...women are not as gentle as men.

I've gone so far as to refuse a certain female gynecologist in this city from ever getting near me again. As a side note, my daughter is much more squeamish and will only open up for a woman doctor.

I had that same attitude when I made the appointment to get my tubes tied. Hubby said wait a minute dont we need to discuss this? I said no, I'm done having kids if you want another you have it. Did I say that his insurance paid for it? lol

::On a side note: I do prefer that my doctors be black or a person of color.

I prefer to have a woman and I usually choose female Asian doctors. Although I am not Asian, I feel more comfortable with having a doctor who is since they (IMO) seem to be very intelligent and really know what they're doing.

Doesn't really matter to me....I just don't care! I have a woman Dr now, but I go to her because she was wonderful when I had my daughter. If she isn't available then I go with another great dr, who is a male, who was great when my son was born.

There was this guy once who was really creepy. He told me not to have my husband give me a breast exam, because he would be to distracted with the size of my breasts. I started to laugh. I then said you can go now. He did not get to do a exam on me. There are some good and bad. When you find a great Dr stick with them!

Yep, that's called wishful thinking, on the other hand my boobs do tend to distract my husband

All I can say is, I would prefer a doctor with small hands.....

    Jourles,

Your comment made me laugh at loud...my husband has a CDL license and they do a very thorough physical exam..

The last doctor who did it was a very big African American ex college basketball player....I swear my poor husband didn't walk right for a couple days! His hands were about the same size as a basketball!

It made me feel like there is justice in the world for all the things that doctors think up to do with women and our bodies when we are pregnant!

Yep. Men look for small fingered male drs. My son in law wants a tatoo on his backside that says DO NOT ENTER. Us women go through so much down there. Men get all freaky. I say they have the second baby and then maybe we wouldn't have the over population problem in the world. Can you imagine if men had monthly periods? I shutter to think. Juni :)

I usually have a female doc and I've been quite satisfied with my treatment. Maybe I just want them to be thorough and do what they need to do to make sure things are okay. Mammograms, however, hurt no matter who does it.

    I completely agree!

However, take my wonderful loving husband.......He is such a God damn baby! Periods and having babies? That's another story. Try cutting your finger? Or burn yourself on the stove(not cooking). He will honestly cry wolf until I drop everything and come to his aid. He does have knee problems and it does get bad every now and then, but he can't even come close or compare himself to me. He has his knee swell up he is in bed for days while I have to rub and kiss his boo boos. I on the other have a 7 hour surgery on my leg and a few days later I walk to the nurses station ask to go home and the next day I am doing laundry and cooking. I don't know what gives.

If they had periods the waiting period on getting a gun would change! I love him dearly but my god if you are bleeding were I see the bone come and get me!

    Brooke
