Ultimately it is his own personal decision.
Do you care if DefD stays a JW or not?

I would be very disappointed if DefD deconverted. It is good to have the other side of the story. Someone needs to be the sacrificial lamb, upholding what they believe at all costs, refusing to be influenced by any sense of reason.
DefD makes me feel better about myself, as I still can not understand how I believed it for so long. It is good to see other people can know the facts and still hold on to their beliefs as I did for so long. -

Despite what leftbehind seems to think, I don't believe most of us are out to convert the world TO something else. Most of us aren't even out to directly get people out of JWism per se, many of us just encourage Bible Study (as opposed to Bible reading) and actual reasoning from the Scriptures as opposed to quoting Reasoning From the Scriptures.
As far as I am concerned, defd is welcome to his choices just like everyone else. At least he knows its a choice, which is more than I can honestly say for the majority of currently active Witnesses.

I like Derrick. Never wanted him to go even when he said he was leaving at different times. He is one of us.
Dave, I agree with your bullet points. Brought a good laugh cuz it's all true.
So where do you stand on him now? Do you WISH he'd get out of JW's? If so, why?
I definately see no need to deconvert him. He could stay in and I'd still like him. It's obvious deep down he thinks for himself, even if he still is sometimes pro-dub (for now).
He's shown his personality to us.

defd doesn't realize it but he's
already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo,hoo,woo, hoo,hoo
Well I know it wasn't you who held me down
Heaven knows it wasn't you who set me free
So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key
But me, I'm already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
'Cause I'm already gone
Yes, I'm already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
'Cause I'm already gone
Yes, I'm already gone
Already gone -

i don't care if he stays a JW or not... and it's nothing personal about him, i just don't care in general about JWs. if they wanna come out, they can do it themselves like i had to...

Defd is a free-man - he can choose at his own time and place when and if he stays a witness -it is not really our business

hey dave. I didnt take this thread as an attack. I must say though that I am a JW. I am stuggling with a few things right now, but we ALL have struggles. It is not about RULES only. There is also the SPIRIT of the law that I go by as well.
Thanks lonely for the shout out. Back at ya
I will never stop serving Jehovah as I was taught through his Org.

Anyone, ANYONE who posts more than a thousand times on this board is not sticking around with the JW's. I don't care what someone says about his/her continuous and staunch support of the org. If he/she is for real, I say let the post count speak for itself. Look at what happened to You Know. And how many posts did he have before it became all too apparent? If Defd is the real deal, I give him/her a year tops to become inactive and/or df'd.
Too much factual information is presented here. If someone sticks around here that long to try and defend mother, there is no way to keep a closed mind for too long.

I don't care, just as long as he doesn't spew too much of their *&^% around here.
