    Hi Waiting,
You aren't the one who is irritating me. I know all about Laetril of course, and have heard of a few people it worked on. We had a wonderful friend who also went to Mexico for treatment of his cancer, and he died a horrible death. He was only 47, and if he had done surgery, and chemo or radiation, he would probably be alive now. Another older friend, had the same kind of cancer, and did the traditional treatments, at the same time, and he fully recovered and is in his 80's. The cancer never came back. It was melanoma. The younger man had it on his thigh, and the older man on his face and neck. Who can figure?

Everyone can have their opinions, but to say something is no good, or quackery is just plain irritating to those of us who know it is NOT.

    Venice,

I have some questions. You said that at the age of 17, there was something wrong with you. What were your symptoms? You said the doctors could find nothing wrong with you. If that was true, who told you that you had a brain tumor? You said that you had severe staff. Do you mean staff infection, and that you would never be rid of it? I thought staff infection was curable. Could you please explain.

    Wouldn't that be 'staph' infection?
And some of us who have diplomas and medical credentials find a lot of the quackery irritating too Mulan. Go figure. But I won't be rudely told to PIPE down.Tina

I can answer part of your question, since Ven may not post for a few days again. Staph infection will always be in your system, once you have it, so they say.......same with Strep. Venice had treatment that took hers away.....gone. She does not test positive for staph anymore.

I think she meant she has something wrong now, that they can't diagnose, not when she was 17. That was the brain tumor. Doctors diagnosed it. She has all the symptoms of a particular Syndrome, but doesn't have it. (I don't want to tell too much personal stuff) They always think she does, and order tests, that show she doesn't.

    Mulan,

I was not trying to be difficult. It was just that some things were not clear to me. I also understand that it is not your place to give details. I will await for Venice's return from her camping trip to see what she wishes to discuss. I want to hear it from the horses's mouth - no I am not calling her a horse - it is just an expression!

Okey dokey. Just thought you might not want to wait that long. It's a LONG camping trip, and her computer is not working. She has to go to the library.

Tina, don't take it personally. I know you know Venice from chat, and you should know she is very exhuberant. She and I are close friends, and she tells me to pipe down sometimes too. She is very loving and wouldn't hurt a flea.........but maybe Ted Jaracz?

HAHAHAHAHAHAH I think it's funny that people think I'm actually serious, I dont' think anyone's ever listend to me when I tell them to pipe down, "I don't get no respect no respect"

HAHAHHA I only came on as strong as I did because I knew otherwise I would dissapoint a few people. The "Pipe Down" comment was just to make Path happy! I guess the Norweigian in me got a bit lose up here sorry about that I'll try to stifle it hahahhaha!

Umm ya Mulan pretty much cleared things up. I did have a brain tumor and got rid of it, the porblems I have now I've been to 3 diff med docs and they can't figure it out, they know something is wrong but don't have a clue what. I have the syptoms for Cushings Disease and PCOS (polysystic ovarian syndrom if you must know). But my tests and ultrasounds came back negative. The Nature Path guy that healed my staff infection and tumor has moved away, and then I moved, and well he's a JW so there goes that!!!! I'm trying a lot of diff things and hopefully will find something that helps.

You of course can say whatever you want about whatever. But I think it'd be most prudent to have at least tried something before you condem it or act like people who do it are stupid morons. I admit some of it seems weird or unbeliveable, but there is usually a very basic principle behind it, and it's very scientific. I mean if it didn't work, there wouldn't be sooo many people that do it and get benefits. It's not for everyone or everything but it's a natural way to heal yourself. The Asain nations have been doing it for thousands of years. BTW did I mention that Acupunture cleared up my Asthema that I'd had for years!!!!

    Luv ya,
    Ven

I love how everyone gets so worked up about this subject on both sides of the fence, makes you go hmmmmmmmmmm.....

To say that Doctors aren't aware or don't apply ANY of the principle of Iridology is NOT correct.

Doctors of Diabetic patients carefully monitor them for Diabetic Retinopathy, which first manifests as small white dots in the colored area of the eye.

I went ONE TIME to an Iridologist, an 'elder' in Toronto (man, I would love to know the name of the elder that someone said got df'd in Toronto). My parents insisted I go. His attitude turned me off. He did correctly diagnose that I had major surgery and the location of the surgery --under my armpit left side. (Rib resection for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Don't freak, we women happen to have extra ribs....)

He knew a few other minor things like I had mild scoliosis in my neck. All of these things had been previously diagnosed/treated by medical doctors.

However, his ability to tell my body's history was one thing. He had nothing of value to help me. He tried to load me up on a TON of shit, herbs and such. I was totally turned off.

Then, he had the audacity to tell me (my daughter was two at the time; I was reinstated before she was even born) "Next time WAIT to have sex." Like I asked him for his GD opinion.

ALL of the JW I know in the Upstate NY area make about four trips a year to see him; he is always 'booked solid' but can somehow squeeze you in.

His latest thing is a big camera where he photographs your blood. He did this recently and surprise found parasites in my mother's blood stream. (Show me one person who *doesn't* have them, thank you) Of course, that necessitated a whole 'nother round of herbs.

    Yucch. He disgusts me.

I am, however, planning to have acupuncture to assist me in labor. This is something I wanted to do with my first daughter, but was young and was talked out of it by a dried up old bag. When I informed my MD of this, he said "I'll give you an epidural." Now my husband laughed, but I jumped in his face right then and told him if he gives routine epidurals let me know so I can switch doctors now. I'm not a supporter of drugs during labor and delivery.

    So yep, it's Buyer Beware.

I recently had the live blood analysis you mentioned. I didn't have parasites. I do a parasiste cleanse twice a year, so would have been surprised if they showed up. Mine did show that I had low minerals and low oxygen carrying ability, so I know what to do. I have to take those darned minerals. So, I am.

Something that makes this whole issue difficult is the propensity on the part of SOME people to capitalize on human suffering.

Twenty years ago I managed a health food store. The store was owned by an self-described "naturopathic physician"; it existed primarily as an extention of her "practice." She was an iridologist, a "Rheams analyst" and maintained a "clinic" where she would treat people with advanced, seemingly hopeless cases of disease.

We carried things at the store that were illegal such as laetril, unhomogenized goat's milk, this mysterious tea imported from Jamaica (Jason Winter's tea - supposed to shrink tumors), and certain herbs in concentrations higher than was approved by the FDA (valerian root, eg.).... in fact, there were a lot of things not approved by the FDA - DMSO (? that solvent supposed to be good for arthritis) vitamin G, inositol (b vitamin) in powdered form (used to cut cocaine back in those days!!!) This is just a few things I can remember. I'd receive panicked phone calls from the owner: "Hide the _____ now! FDA is in the area!)

There were many people I met in the store - both practictioners and people seeking relief from their symptoms. There were many people who got better, and many people who truly loved their fellow man and tried to serve them in this way with as much integrity as I've ever seen. There were also people who had to earn a living at these alternative practices and who "provided" their services when they weren't needed - simply because they had to pay the rent, etc.

My boss, who was gifted in many ways, (she could tell by looking at my eyes that I'd had certain medical situations that I'd never revealed to her - it was amazing) would take in patients into her clinic (a secret location, of course) and some would truly be helped. Like with advanced Hodgkin's lymphoma. Others, and it was obvious, were beyond help. She took them in anyway, because she wanted the money. (It was a lot of $$$ )

For quite a few years I was immersed in the whole thing both as a participant for general health and as an observer..... fasting diets, chelation therapy, frozen castor oil capsules, black walnut tincture, diotomacious earth (pulverizes those evil parasites within your intestinal tract!) coffee enemas, the whole water is poison era.....

Anyway. My point is simply that healing is more than medical or non-traditional treatments... some people can recover fully from placebos when they are dispensed with love from a caring authority figure. Others die when their MD's provide state of the art technology but are sterile and detached as they provide care. There is validity on both ends of the continuum of health care - alternative and traditional....Mulan, I'm sure you have read Andrew Weil's books! They are incredibly insightful, don't you agree?

Just like every other situation on earth, people find ways of making money at this stuff, and their judgment is affected by it. I had some little dope who took a sample of urine and saliva tell me I had a brain tumor back then... I didn't; but he would have provided as much "care" as I could have afforded if I had let him. I think this aspect - human greed flourishing at the expense of vulnerable people - is what is suspect and taints the subject.

Sound familiar? And I don't even want to get started on the "recovered memories" issue..... AAHHHRRRGGG.

I'd see a practitioner of alternative medicine anyday, but the second I suspected them of abusing my trust, they are toast. The problem is risking having your trust violated, yet once again.... it's easier for most people to simply toss the entire industry (religion, culture, race, etc.) altogether. I'm going to shut up now! But thanks for yet another very interesting subject.
