Hi Willow, that's very true. But how do you manage to do that? Where to begin? Would this include the JW's then?

How do you think God feels about people who Know that there are injustices and crimes being committed against people, children and do nothing about it?
If YOU know that the JW's are guilty of things and you do nothing to inform the public, to warn them, to warn your neighbors that this is a religious group that has a very scary history, then why shouldn't God call you to an accounting for letting harmful things take place? If you knew your neighbor was studying and she wasn't getting the whole truth, because they weren't telling her, don't you think she has a right to know before gettting baptized? Wouldn't you want to tell her everything you know?
Ok, you have said more then once that God will take care of it.
Call it God, call it Karma, call it "you reap what you sow": Remember the parable about the Good Samaritan? So many people on this and other forums like this have been pioneers in calling the Society on their false predictions, on their twisted blood policy and their erroneous 2 witness policy. I think I am pretty damned lucky to be reaping the benefits of those that have stood up for what is right and for what is wrong and didn't let the Organization tell them "Wait on Jehovah, He will take care of things in His own time." Had they all done that, we wouldn't have the network of support that we have here.

I think all religions are scary. That's why I don't belong to any! If God will call me for an accounting so be it! I'm ready for it! I fear God and trust in him, he doesn't need my help to uncover the lies or anything. I'm not taking the laws into my own hands. I think he can take care of himself very well. If I'm wrong, then heck I'll get my just deserved as well as the next person JW or not JW.

Excellent question, urstruly. Part of my modified worldview is that there has to be a fundamental reverence for life.

It is all right to challenge any organization or person that corrupts life or love. I am glad we have armies and laws and prisons for people or tyrants who have no respect for others.

I'm not taking the laws into my own hands.
Ok, urs, I'm having a tough time understanding this.
In what way are any of us here, taking the law into our own hands?
Also, you said that it is not your responsibility to uncover lies etc.
Then why have investigators? Why have police? Why have an FBI? Why have a CIA?
Why read the paper? Why watch the news?
Journalists spend their lives uncovering the lies of politicians and governments. Aren't you interested in their lies?
Do you want to support a politician who is a lying pervert? I'm sure that you wouldn't. How would you know if that person is a lier? Because of others who take their right to vote serious enough to know who they're voting for.
In the same sense, before you join a religious group or any organized group of people, wouldn't you Want to know as much as you could about them before you join?
If you were having a tough time getting information, wouldn't you find it helpful to go to people who have put a lot of effort in to getting that information?
I don't understand, Why a person would would not want to uncover lies and deceptions. I don't understand Why a person would say, God doesn't need my help in uncovering lies and deceptions?
You work in a clinic, you help people every day discover the truth about what is going on inside their bodies.
For centuries, medicine was no where near accomplished as it is today. Think of the untruths that people believed for centuries. People believed (and in some places still do) that disease was a punishment from God, they didn't know and understand the concept of bacteria, viruses and genetic disorders.
It was because of a search for truth and ultimately finding it, that people learned where disease comes from.
Searching for truth, and uncovering lies helps people everyday. If you are content with your life, wonderful.
But others, after having certain experiences in their life feel the need to search for truth and not stopping until it is found. And helping others in their search as well.
You are right that you are entitled to your opinion. You don't want your opinion changed. For someone who doesn't want their opinion changed, why are you returning to the topic? As I said, you're always welcome, I'm just curious.

This kicks serious butt here. I enjoyed every word.
I feel so much the sme way about it. It's why I do what I do. And will continue in doing. I could not, in good conscience, sit back and do nothing. Nor will I. Nor are many others.
Great post BlackSwan! And you are very welcomed.
