in helping people we HAVE to want to help them and not just prove them wrong and more importantly stress to them that you want to discuss and help and not necessarily prove a point and that you too will have an open mind. your in no threat of being proven wrong and they can feel comfortable too.

Your ABSOLUTELY right KW13!! And taking a break is a good idea. They WILL think about what we have said. Everytime they hear that date, what we have said will pop in their head. And Yes, your motive has to be one of helping them NOT arguing. They will see right trough it!

This reminds me of a true story about a poisonous gas leak from a drum in a cargo ship hold. Someone went down to investigate, they didn’t come back, so someone else went down to investigate and they didn’t come back, so someone else went down to investigate and they didn’t come back, etc, until 18 crew members were dead and the chief officer suddenly clicked. When they send elders™ to see what’s wrong, the elder™ will sometimes catch a whiff of the apostate gas himself. That’s why any potential meeting with a dissenter is dangerous to the JWs. The poison is an unfortunate aspect of the analogy, LOL

    LL -

Great story! I am still amazed at how much of your family you have been able to save. So many of us have family that do the standard "oh it's just a date. you can't get hung up on dates." BULLS**T!! This date stuff rocks the org to it's very core and foundation IMO. My father is starting to see the lie with all this stuff. He told me a few weeks ago that it does no good to share this info. with the majority of JW's because the truth about this stuff has always been there, but the individual has to be READY to hear it! SO TRUE!!

Keep us posted. I really don't see how you all can escape DFing for apostasy though........

till your next installment, I'll be waiting excitedly!

Here is one also. The society in the IT book lists the destruction of

    *** it-1 p. 236 ***

In such glory it continued as the capital of the third world power until the night of October 5, 539 B.C.E. (Gregorian calendar), when fell before the invading Medo-Persian armies under the command of Cyrus the Great

Well in the NWT if you turn to Daniel 5:26- this is where the handwriting on the wall is.

(Daniel 5:26) 26 “This is the interpretation of the word: ME´NE, God has numbered [the days of] your kingdom and has finished it.

If you look at the marginal reference at the end of the verse it links the numbered days to Jer. 25:12. So the NWT is linking the numbering of days to the 70 year prophecy, and that the 70 years are over.

(Jeremiah 25:12) 12 “‘And it must occur that when seventy years have been fulfilled I shall call to account against the king of and against that nation,’ is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘their error, even against the land of the Chal·de´ans, and I will make it desolate wastes to time indefinite.

(Daniel 5:27-31) 27 “TE´KEL, you have been weighed in the balances and have been found deficient.

28 “PE´RES, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and the Persians.”

Thus the nation of was no more, which would only happen when the seventy years were fulfilled.

29 At that time Bel·shaz´zar commanded, and they clothed Daniel with purple, with a necklace of gold about his neck; and they heralded concerning him that he was to become the third ruler in the kingdom.

30 In that very night Bel·shaz´zar the Chal·de´an king was killed 31 and Da·ri´us the Mede himself received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.

Belshazzar was killed that night—No more king of .

Two actions would be taken once the seventy years were fulfilled. According to the bible and the WTBS own bible the NWT, God putting the handwriting on the wall was fulfilling the Seventy Years.

In 539 BCE God called to account against (1) the king of and (2) against the nation of . Both were no more.

In 537 BCE there was no nation of and NO king of . In fact not only was Belshazzar killed that night, his father was also killed in 539 BCE.

    Hope this helps,

When I go through my final goodbye with the Elders it's going to be chapter 5 of In Search of Christian Freedom. Believing that scripture that is said to have been backed by God fortold the WTS is just absurd. We each have our own bone to pick.

    Dear KW13,

Yes, I will get that info. for you. Most of it was gathered right off this site. Many thanks to whoever that was by the way!!!! Sorry to whoever originally posted it! I'll get that to you. My Father told me yesterday, that in the OLD Babylon book it actually lists the reigns of the Kings and they are in perfect harmony with all the other data we have found!! It doesn't give any dates though. It doesn't have to, as long as the Society sees 539 as a pivital date to work backwards from. It all comes together BEAUTIFULLY! I just learned of that being in the Babylon book yesterday! I cannot wait to put that in my bag of tricks when they come back!

    Sincerely,

    Lady Liberty
