    > > > 1990 Pure Language District Convention

It was the 1990 convention where the parallel comparison was made to Noah and his family remaining childless during the 40 years of ark construction, and how we must remain childless building the spiritual ark as the end is just soooooo close. There was a worldwide follow up primary watchtower study that fall to reinterate.

Resulting fallout-Anyone who got 'knocked up' later on was scorned in my congregation for not following Jehovah's direction and think yes just think of all the sisters close to menopause who lost out on the chance to have a baby.

Hey! They reviled my parents for getting 'knocked up' with me (pre birth control pill era) in the year 1957

We had lively car group discussions commuting to the Providence Rhode Island civic center on how this is it,as the society said 'no kids' in 1925 and would never repeat the same mistake again.I quit my $50 K a year job to go out in service knowing that i would never need my retirement fund.

This same convention that had a two elder sit down demo on instruction not to watch the animated simpsons TV show, our car gorup agreed to not watch it anymore as we might lose favor with Jehovah.

    Ahhhhh,armageddon is just soooo close.

Yes indeed the Watchtower is a classic high demand destructive apocalyptic cult.

The GB are strong believers in the old saying a picture is worth a thousand words like the ones Danny has shown.

They use them to scare the hell out of their members, and keep them serving out of fear, not love.

The preaching has stopped in twenty countries. If the GT has started would it not stop in all countries. Just another line of their B.S.

That sure is an interesting spin on the negative stats for 20+ countries.

(just up on the news wire, look how this apocalyptic cult tries to present a normal image to the media). Scoliosis Surgery Without Transfusion

    Scoliosis Surgery Without Transfusion
Like many teenage girls, Emily Youngblood loves to play sports and stay active.
"I'm a classical ballerina so I like to do that several times a week,” Emily said. However, that had to be put on hold after doctors diagnosed her with scoliosis last year. Scoliosis can often be treated with a spinal brace, but Emily's progressed so rapidly that within a matter of months, “it looked like a snake was in her back," Emily’s mom Kristen said. There's no question. Emily needed spinal surgery. Here's the catch. The Youngblood's are Jehovah's Witnesses. That means they believe blood is sacred. It also means they had to find a surgeon who'd perform Emily's surgery without a blood transfusion. Their search for doctor led the Youngblood's to Wuesthoff Hospital and Dr. Richard Hynes. Hynes says this surgery typically requires a blood transfusion, but there are ways to avoid it. "We use what's called hypertensive anesthesia that drops blood pressure way down,” Dr. Hynes said. “The second thing is you can use all sorts of tricky solutions to apply topically to the incision and the area you're working on to stop the bleeding as you work. You can use a circulating system that keeps any small amount within the patient." Otherwise, Dr. Hynes says the basic surgery technique is the same. He says Emily will wear a back brace for about nine months, then she'll be back to doing everything she loves." Emily said, "Because of the surgery I'll be able to do everything I could do before I had surgery, only better, now that I have a straight back." Dr. Hynes says if it looks like the patient is going to lose a lot of blood, the surgeon can always stop what they are doing and finish the procedure another day, so a blood transfusion won't be necessary. He says Emily is doing well and she's about two inches taller now that her back is straight.

What "special talk" would that be? Currently, the WTS has a special talk shortly after the Memorial that is planned long in advance. My experience is that these talks are more of the same old slop.

If it is a "special" talk by a visiting Bethelite, I have known some to inject their personal opinion.

Or your sister could misunderstood what was said.

Unless Watchtower™ last days™ doctrine has undergone a radical change, the Great Tribulation™ is to start with the United Nations turning on Christendom and all other organised religion. Nothing to fear Jehovah's Windowashers - the harlot still rides!
