What-A-Coincidence - We're trying to stay incognito for a little while longer, otherwise we'd DA without a second thought and ask for all our records to be removed. The cheek of them is what's really winding me up!!!
BumbleBee - I'd never heard of something like this either. I can only put it down to the control freakery of the PO!
Hi Gill
i would be furious, but you obviously dont want to make a big stink or it will alert the PO and make them enquire as to WHY you would be so desperate to get your name removed.
I suggest a letter to the CO (as it will be dealt with promptly!) include information from this website
http://www.ico.gov.uk/eventual.aspx
Which is the UK law regarding Data protection. I work in a field where we have to be very careful about peoples information and I guarantee you this is breaking the law.
Just point out that you are aware of the list, and want to make sure the people on it have been contacted within the last two years to ensure the society does not get sued.

Thanks Poppy! I'll try that. It's a shame that I'm going to have to write a 'polite' letter!
OMG! That is so wrong! I mean it! That list is supposed to be private and confidential. At least it was back in 2001.
If it has been approved to post publicly that means they are now employing the scare of humiliation as a tactic to force the rank and file to publish the literature.
Yikes!!!!
That feels like kindergarten to me. Why not have a golden, silver or black star chart and post the pitiful hours of the congregation members?
Why not have a dunce corner? (Ive heard some congos have a df preferred pew)
Why, I am sure that is an oversight and not approved posting!
That is insulting and a disgrace.
That info is for the shepherds only.
That's really strange Gill. I've not seen it in the UK. I'm quite shocked. Why don't they put a list of DF people with what they were disfellowshipped for and their favorite sexual positions>???
Actually, it feels like we've been ASBO'd and no one's told us! (Anti Social Behaviour Order)
Ballistic - Now that would be a very interesting notice board to read!
Anewme - The PO at out old cong is about 75! I'm wondering whether he's not intouch with the modern world and confidential material. The rest of the Elders, as I remember them were not particularly bright, but there was one solicitor (lawyer) among them, so I'd have thought that they should know better!
That's shocking, Gill, I have never heard of that either. I am sure that what they are doing is illegal. I know they keep records of inactive publishers, but they are not supposed to be put on public display. I would write a strong letter to the po demanding an explanation.
We were just wondering whether we're on the Do Not Call list on the back of the Territory Card as well.
No one EVER calls here even when it's newer ones who don't know us!
The scheming little buggers! Think of the fun I'll be missing out on when we finally DA and they REFUSE to call on us!
