Richie, I have your back. If things get truly desperate, you can stay with me. Bring your sleeping bag. PM me if you need to.

Congratulations. I think the WT society better brace themselves: they aren't going to know what hit them. I see great things to come. You're amazing.
Good for you Richie, getting an attorney and even better he hates JW's. I sure my sons had been as smart as you have. Good luck to you, your sense of determination, you planning and thinking ahead will pay off. I wondered if you were going to nullify you baptism or what.

Wow!
Reading this thread just reinforces how so called "worldly" people care much more for their friends than those "in the truth" or the "world wide brotherhood". How many active JW's have ever stepped up to the plate and offered a place to stay or money or just support when someone was going through a DFing and might be left out on the street?
Didn't the elders tell Sick of Lies that all his "wordly" friends would abandon him? Looks like it's the other way around!

You're a good man Richie. Like the rest of us I am with you in spirit.
If your mum is getting the idea your 'too young/nieve' to be doing this and don't understand why your doing it...then what about when ya got baptized. Its your decision and your choice!
Richie has been posting here for over a year. During that time he has posted his pictures, talked about his plans to leave the JW, and provided enough information to identify him. But only now have the Watchtower (who certainly has been informed about RR activities by now) and the elders taken action, eight days before RR's 18th birthday.
It is interesting to note that they started to take action only when one of their secret publications became involved. It shows what matters most to them.
I predict that the elders, under the direction of the Watcthower, will be demanding that Richie return the "flock" book.
Hang in there Richie, I hope things work out to your benefit.

Richie,
Hey, I'm so glad you are feeling "free." That's the best part. Nothing to lose now. You don't have to be afraid. Your mom will find a way to deal with this. Reassure her of your love, and talk about neutral topics.
You'll move on, and yes, this is a defining moment of your life, but not THE defining moment. You didn't do anything wrong. You're just inevitably moving away from a cult that you were unfortunately raised in.
In my opinion, I wouldn't even show up for the meeting. That's a game they play. Just don't recognize their authority anymore. It's just silly. Awesome that you have a lawyer on your side. (Well, I guess you do want to disassociate rather than disfellowship, for your mom's sake. So do whatever is right for you.)

Richie, you've set a fine example to all those here who need the courage to stand up to religious authoritarianism...
You have intelligence. So you're able to see the truth about this organization and why it isn't what it says it is.
You have courage. So you are doing the right thing despite the ramifications brought on by those who wish to control you. As you once told me on the chat site we both frequent, "It'd be nice if everyone liked me. But if they don't, that's okay with me."
You have confidence. So you know that--regardless the consequences--you will end up a happier and healthier person as a result of your actions.
This is the way it works, folks. I hope, when you're ready, you can have the same fine qualities and Richie.
I salute you, sir.
{{{ Dave, good to see you }}}
Richie, I'd take Daves advise. GO TO THE MEDIA! Start with DATELINE NBC.
