*You can call me naive but I always assumed everything I heard in the meetings were true; Then one day thoughts started popping in my head like "What If god doesn't exist? if he does exist is he the jehovah I know?"*

Not naive at all!! You are using your good old noggin'!! I didn't let myself think for myself till I was 30 years old. Follow those questions, you will be very thankful you did.

I look forward to your future postings....

Welcome Mx....hey, your making all us ones who didn't have your brains kinda jealous cuz your figuring it out at such an early age.....tell us we ain't losers dammit!

Seriously, you have a gift for using your thinking mind. I was one of those who bought the line I was taught as a child without doubting at least to a point of exiting untill the age of 40.

It surprised me that 6 months after baptism you asked yourself questions to yoursel such as the ones you described. Why did the existence of god become the subject/question for you do you suppose?

To Gumby. Prayer has always seemed kind of stupid to me, if god knows everything why do we need to talk to him, cant he fix our problems without us nagging him? The other big issue I have is: if the universe had to have a beginning why not god? And my list of questions goes on and on...

If you learn to enjoy exploring the questions free of dogma and preset ideas you'll have a wonderful life Mx. When it comes to religion, there is more value in exploring one question than in all the answers in the world.

As JW's we scoffed at the notion of two men arguing over how many angels could fit on the head of a pin, not appreciating that the value was in the argument, the journey rather than the destination.

    happy posting, unclebruce

    Hello MX,

The decisions you face are hard as I'm sure that being raised in the ORG you have family that you will loose when you leave. I hope that you will discover that there IS a GOD that cares about you and that serving him can mean a lot of different things and there is no one way to do it correctly. I don't want to see you or anyone doubt God's existance or love because the ORG has a heartless, cruel, narrowminded, and down right uneducated dogma that it forces on people. One thing I wish I'd have done at your age is decide to go to college no matter what. Do that for yourself. Don't let them rape you of an education and making a living for yourself later. They wont be there for you later but you'll have your knowledge and skills to provide for yourself. After leaving and not going to college I'm a single mother of two and it's hard to provide without the proper start of a college degree. Don't feel guilty for what you're thinking or feeling or doing, we're all here for you. Good Luck!
