Let me ask you this. If the annointed are so elated in going to heaven; then why on Earth do they (Bro. Knorr spent so much time and money going to Mexico and seeking medical help for his problems. Why not just tell the brothers save your money and time, "Let me go enter into my abode that Christ has prepared for me. Point # 2: What brought about the dudes unfaithfulness. Do you know for a fact, not what the congo announced. It was announced in my congo. that I had become a warlock and became involved in witch craft. WRONG... I just no longer believed the FDS got they messages from God. THey changed their minds too much. I spent 35 years in the pog. and as well as an elder. Don't beleive anything you hear and only half of what you see.

I couldnt understand why there always seemed to be around 8000 partakers even after 20 years this figure was the same, it could only mean there must have been lots and lots of annointed ones who lost their crowns and had to be replaced.

There's an anointed one in my Congregation, he's been a special pioneer for many years and is the PO of the Congregation. He only became an anointed one a few years ago when an older anointed one in a nearby Congregation became unfaithful.
He jumped on that before anybody else could say it. How did he inform the cong. Speedy, I would gather!

There are some people that are genuinely honestly convinced that they have been abducted by aliens.
Some people would swear on their childrens lives that they died and went to heaven up a long tunnel of light and then came back down to earth and were resucutated.
There are many born again christians who are utterly and genuinely convinced that they have been born again and have a place in His mansion.
I have to believe that just because someone (or even 8000 people) believes something sincerely it doesnt mean it is true.

Zico,
I will second the comments of "lovelylil". While yet a Witness I professed to be anointed. I have since departed from the Organisation and still profess to be anointed. The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society had nothing whatsoever to do with it.
Perhaps you would take a peek at Galatians 4:26-28 to see that the Scriptures prophesy that tens of millions of Christians are heaven-bound. Or look at Revelation 7:15 along with Rev. 11:19; 14:17; and 15:5 (especially in the "Kingdom Interlinear") to see where the Great Crowd will serve God.

I'm not completely sure how best to respond... I have come up with many more questions which I will post in seperate threads over the next few days when I have time. I have been a member of this religion all my life, I don't know of anything else, so I want to make absolutely sure of everything that is currently going through my mind. Thanks for all your answers.

Unfortunately some of the things that you could read that might help you with your decision would be considered apostate material. The only real truth may be that only god knows and that goes for everything. It is sad for me to see all the confusion with a lot of jw's and I will have to say that I am confused also. I suggest you do your own research on the organization and find out for yourself because everyone elses opinion is just that, an opinion. Who said it best. "All we need to know is that we know nothing!"
My opinion, or thought. Poopy doopy, who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get out of the cult!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to JWD Zico!
Your reasoning is nearly identical to the one I used to have not so long ago. In the end it was the sole argument that kept me in JW... until for me the evidence (607BCE/1914/1919) against JW became overwhelming enough to discount any possibility of the WTS - through (the ultimately shallow concept of FD&S/144.000 - ever having been God's Org, I was forced to discount the anointing phenomenon of inconsequential for any marking of a "God's Org".
Once you find out how hollow almost any JW concept is, you will also be able to consider the many other explanations of the FD&S phenomenon, such as the one given by lovelylil. Cognitive dissonance is rife and many other religions claim to have "enlightening" experiences or goals such as in Buddhism or the Pentecostals that purportedly speak in tongues. Is it an indication of their being Chosen? The Bahai religion, the Mormons, and Islam all claim to have the last and true inspired and enlightened/anointed prophet and each have their extensive "inspired" scripture to show for it. How could they therefore possibly be wrong?
Interesting thread on the subject of anointing:

lovelylil,
What will happen to the rest of us that aren't anointed, let alone get a crown. What is our destination, if any?

welcome, z.
try to read all the real old watchtower publications you can get ahold of. you will see how much supposed "truth" has been discarded by the society. some of them were doctrines that were the cornerstones to the entire faith. they are gone now, just like the current core beliefs will be when they dont pan out. if they were really the "channel" from God, those truth's would still be true. not to mention joining the U.N. they have some real interesting talks and documents concerning that. good luck.
