Although it doesn't bother me, it is somewhat a disability. I went for an interview with a networks company. It was laying mostly CAT5 cable but the job included laying up to 50 core cable. Then half way through the interview I realised I can't do it. The guy really wanted me to have the job, but I just said "sorry - I can't do it" So he pulled out a bit of cable and said what's this and this. And I said, "that one's reddish green, that one's orangey green and the other one's greeny brown red.

Yeah, B-man they would have rejected a lot of us. I am not color blind, but I am flat footed and dyslexic. I am a compensated dyslexic. So maybe you are a compensated (color) blind man. You have to do everything by touch. A friend of ours learned how to drive in her 50's and she is a horrible driver. We say that she drives by touch. As you can guess, no one takes her up on her offer to drive somewhere. So I guess that means that you will never be called in to be a fashion designer, but my guess is that you are ok with that.

You have to do everything by touch.

Can get you in a lot of trouble when meeting strangers!

If I understand you correctly - the use of the word compensated... I see shades of colour far more vividly. For example, when playing snooker or pool, I can see if one of the reds has come from a different set off another table. This talent completely puzzles normal people who can see no difference and they play games like, mix them up and see if I can still point out the same ball.

The scientific explanation to this is the cones and rods at the back of the eye, I have less of the ones for seeing colour but more of the ones for seeing shade.

I'm too old but I do believe that anybody caught breaking in my home is goint to get shot at , whether they get killed or not is up to where the bullets land . I don't like politics so would not be interested in fighting for the country.

    It depends,

If the politicians of my country created a situation that escalated into war then I wouldn't. I might consider it if these warmongering politicians sent their children to the front line first instead some out of harms way cosy town in Canada.

I'd fight to protect myself and daughter, but I wouldn't die for my country. I really don't feel any allegiance or duty to uphold the ideals.

Definitely defend myself and my family...no to joining the military, unless I can join the military that Private Benjamin wanted to join; with the condos and the private rooms.

but I wouldn't die for my country.

I'm puzzled by this. I wonder if it is different for an American to fully understand what the question means when they haven't had a world war on home soil.

    Hi Ballsy,

There was also Japanese fire on the West Coast during WW2 (Oregon, I think).
