Auldsoul says: The Bible NEVER prophesied that this period must fit within Nebuchadnezzar's reign, so your question sets up a pre-falsified criterion.

You aren't very good at this logic thing, are you?

    Jehovah says:
Ezekiel 30: 10 ‘I will also cause the crowd of Egypt to cease by the hand of Neb·u·chad·rez´zar the king of Babylon.

Now who is not very good with logic?

thirdwitless rambled awhile and ended with:

: To prove that the Bible cannot be totally relied upon.

Were the heavens and the earth created in six days, as Exodus states?

: Now who is not very good with logic? You, you moron. According to you, Nebuchadnezzar's reign ended in 582 B.C., and Egypt was desolate from 588 through 548 B.C. Does that desolation "fit within Nebuchadnezzar's reign", as AuldSoul asked? AlanF

To prove that the Bible cannot be totally relied upon.

No, to prove that your and other men's "interpretation" of the bible can't be relied upon AT ALL. -r

There is a reason why most refuse to answer the question was Egypt desolated for 40 years by Babylon. If you say yes then you have disproved 587. But if you say no, like auldsoul has, then you have contradicted Jehovah. You certainly can't admit that JWs are right about 607, but you certainly don't want to outrightly contradict Jehovah although auldsoul had no problem doing just that. So you are in a dilema when it comes to answering the question.

So here is what we have:

Did the 40 year desolation of Egypt take place?

JWs say yes because Jehovah said it would.

587 proponents say no because there is no secular evidence and so they invent outlandish reasons why Jehovah's word was not fulfilled.

Jehovah's word or secular evidence? Which do we accept? Yes, it really is just that simple.

That is why the 40 year desolation is being discussed on a 607 thread. But Tyre being rebuilt or not could only need to be discussed here if a person is trying to show that the Bible and especially Ezekiel is unreliable.

Typical unreasonableness of 587 proponents. Does this really require an explanation? Hey Ive got one about Tyre this is about as reasonable as what you just said.

Maybe Jehovah was talking about Tyre, NY. And maybe there will be a king from Babylon, NY named Nebuchadnezzar that will destroy Tyre, NY and it will never be rebuilt. And then he will go desolate Egypt, NY and this desolation will last for 40 years.

Rassillion said as to why Tyre is being discussed: No, to prove that your and other men's "interpretation" of the bible can't be relied upon AT ALL. Ok, choose any interpretation you like as to what the Bible meant when it said Tyre would never be rebuilt. Now tell me how does this prove 587 or disprove 607? Please spare us the insult of saying, 'Well if your interpretation is wrong about Tyre then its wrong about Egypt.' One has nothing to do with the other. Besides, I'm letting you choose whatever interpretation you like concerning Tyre.

Answer AlanFs question, please. If you can`t, then I believe this discussion has come to an end, and the witnoids must retreat with their tales behind their behinds, once again.

Here's another simple question that thirdwitless will refuse to answer:

Was Jerusalem ever rebuilt? Give reasons for your answer.

He has so far refused to answer the two simple questions I've posed. Why? Because he knows that either way he answers, his game is up.
