    Wow.. just wow.

I bet all these people who are so vehemetly against evolution are religious and feel it conflicts with their spiritual beliefs. Ever stop to think that is why you are against evolution?

I never see religious people battling other scientific theories like relativity, quantum mechanics, string theory, etc. They don't because those theories are not perceived as threats to their belief system.

The amount of ignorance shown by the anti-evolutionists is depressing, but not unexpected. I got tired of threads like this long ago. It's sad that the US is so far behind the rest of the developed world in their acceptance of evolution.

Another post? Just when I was preparing an Epitaph for this thread....I do feel though that the Evolutionist are fearful of a living God. All life points his wonders.

    Zagor,

My question to my ancient bible history colleagues was: Outside of the Bible are there any works accepted by scholars that prove Jesus actually existed?

    This is an early reply.

Just think about what you just asked. Do you think that after 2000 years if there were any such proof it would have gone largely unnoticed?
If there were, you would have had no need to ask.
    :-)

That's what I thought, but I'll wait to see what others say.

There is a place in digital space where banging ones head against an agenda begins to lose its appeal. Trying to explain your motives to the Widow Dido and her Topsy Hatted appendage is of little value. They are not interested at all. They are here to flame and snigger. The last thing on their minds is learning *anything* about *anything*.

Perhaps you're right. Too bad, as this could be an interesting topic. Time to move on to other threads.

    Nina sends hugs.

    Be well,

    Chris

I don't think all America has woken up yet. Also, some aren't as addicted to their computers as the rest of us. I'm really going to have to dry out from JWD!

Wrong. There are many theists who accept evolution.

Over the years I have found that debates on this Board are either worthy of involvement when an hidden agenda is not present, a rare occurrence, or worthy only of ad hominem when a malevolent agenda is present.

Hillary: I'm with Dansk in that many of said debates have been very useful to people like us .

For those interested, Adulsoul and AlanF have started a new thread out of this one http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/15/122241/1.ashx.

After I left the org I was surprised how many religious people accept evolution and the fact that I didn’t realize that when going in FS. My jw thinking was, if you believe in evolution then you can’t have true faith in god. I thought that couldn’t work, but it does for many.

As for me, I believe in evolution but I’m not final about the origin of life, so I appreciate threads like these very much. This one has made me lean more towards becoming an Atheist. Although, IMO, some of the reasoning from pro-creationist found on this thread I don’t find representative for the "informed" creationists.

Looking forward to see how this and the other thread continue.

    Ascot,

Hillary: I'm with Dansk in that many of said debates have been very useful to people like us .

I differentiated between useful debates from which much information can be garnered, and the majority of debates which are fuelled not by a desire for knowledge but by other agendas. ThirdWitness for example filled this board with reams of pages of nonsense. His claimed aim was to challenge 'apostate' views on certain scriptures. He proved himself to have no desire whatsoever to debate, but merely used this Board to preach.

If you want another example of a useless debate, one in which as I note one is banging ones head against an agenda, then respond to this post with some sort of logic and see what happens :

    Hey Acsot,

I've noticed many people call you 'Ascot' - and I think I've done it myself at least once! Did you mean for your name to be Acsot?

    I digress. Sorry!
