Welcome CoolerKing! Glad to have you with us and voicing your opinions and concerns and experiences. This helps all of us.
Various emotions at different times. After having raised 4 kids in the org. there is anger and sadness because of what I put them through and the lost time w/enjoying special times w/them.
After time has gone by and I've found a place for the past history - JOY to be out.

I'm glad I'm out! I'm not angry, really. I wish I had a somewhat "normal" beginning---celebrating birthdays, going to "worldly" relatives' homes, etc. but I simply have no use for this religion.I don't miss it at all.
I was devastated at first when I found out I was df'd:

But now? Relief and joy knowing I am set free from religious enslavement.

Unless one is born into a religion, getting involved in a religion, any religion, is stupid. It's usually a mistake made by the idealism of youth. So, my feelings about having been a JW are that it was a stupid decision. However, converting to the Roman Catholic Church would have been only somewhat less stupid. Or the Southern "Hang 'em high!" Baptists. The Church of Christ is every bit as dark and negative as the Rubadubs, they just don't go door to door with it very often. The important thing is to make strengths out of the weaknesses that led you into the open arms of a cult. If you lacked knowledge, acquire it. If you lacked critical thinking skills, acquire them.
Hey Kong! WELCOME to JWD!!!! You're right! All religions suck.
I feel like I've just driven through a patch of dirt road and the dust behind me is soo heavy I can't see beyond it. The problem is... the dust never settles, so I can't exactly make out what I've left behind, all I know is, I don't care to stick around long enough to wait for the dust to settle. I'm just moving on, no fear, no sadness, no remorse, no nothing. It's actually a little strange, I have no sense of anger or anything, just want to move on. Kinda like going to a bad movie, you just can't wait till it's over, so you can leave. Well....the movie is over.

BP, very interesting.....The past is the past.
I wouldn't exactly call it an emotion, but for many years I suffered with CATASTROPHE. That is, whether it was health based or financial, or legal, I could only see the very worst in a future outcome. I found it quite common amongst ex-dubs.

Many were expressed; but they are gone now...the control is no more...
