If I'm not mistaken the Pope came out and appologized for the part they had in any cover ups of Priests who had abused children

The Catholic clergy has been actively trying to make some kind of amends and have handled many lawsuits and claims with cash settlements.

Has the WTS done anything to voluntarily rectify matters like these, or admitted there ARE pedophiles within their ranks?

For years and years, the WTS literature was filled with pictures of Catholic clergy in the most unflattering ways, even calling them names because they had "relations with the Disgusting Thing"---the United Nations....while secretly doing the very same things that they condemned the "other religions" for doing.

The WTS is despicable, sneaky and hypocritical.......but still like to claim that THEY are God's mouthpiece and his chosen people.

Whenever "false religion" does go down.....the WTS will be the first to fall.

She whispered to my wife that this was a new campaign and was not supposed to be handed out until next month, but was "very excited, because this is supposed to bring about the tribulation". They may be right. Inside the two pages they call Catholics condoning child molesting (ironic), non-JWs blood thirsty war mongers, and how people involved in politics are under mind control (again, ironic), among other things. Basically the same old crap, but in a very aggressive way this time.

Actually, it's the same ol', same ol' they've been spewing for decades. Here's the info from a track from 1973 and it says the exact same stuff:

No one outside the Organization gives a rat's ass about this stupid tract. 99.9% of the people will just toss it in the garbage. I can just see all the Witnesses sitting in their homes on Christmas Eve (wouldn't it be "fitting" for Jehovah to start The End on a pagan holiday?) with their noses pressed against the windows, waiting for The End to start.

Wonder what excuse Brooklyn's going to come up with this time when everyone starts asking "well, where is it?"

The JWs are trying to stir up a hornet's nest with this campaign. They want to be either loved or hated; they don't really care much which it is. The only thing they truly cannot stand is to be thought of as inconsequential. They remind me of the Glen Close character in Fatal Attraction: "I will NOT be ignored!" About the same level of irrationality, too.

Hello all and thanks very much for the warm welcome! I've been a long time lurker, just decied to post for once. Yeah, I can see that this is the same old crap. Just the concept of "bringing about" the tribulation is extremely odd to me. Can one really "push" God's plans into action, and through handing out tracts? Anyway, what really hurts my heart is to see my mother-in-law so excited about it all.

I found a copy roughly folded and stuffed in behind my screen door this morning. Seeing as it had been almost screwed up into a ball, I finished the job and tossed it in the rubbish.

I have some expose' type flyers that I have been dropping off at KH's this week- I live in a major city. Well today was a first- A security guard was sitting in his car in the KH parking lot. It was about 2pm and there were maybe 6 cars in the lot. I wonder, if they have already received a threat over this inflamatory tract they are distributing. The KH was located in a nice suburb, not an area noted for crime. I doubt that the KH budget could stand paying for a security guard very long. Or maybe, they were trying to keep "Me" out of their parking lot with some photocopies of embarrassing moments in Watchtower history.
