    Shelby,

You know girl. Iam about ready to side with Farkel on his review of your seeking attention.

You proclaim a sincere question actually couched in normal language, without a scriptural reference or even biblical tone. Then you turn around and offer me a smug unanswerable question, and proceed to rip TR a new asshole for not answering you politely. Geez lady, give us a break.

I gave you a sincere response. I wasn't looking to debate with you who has a son or daughter in the military. Just to give an answer to what seemingly appeared to be a sincere question.

I don't get offened easily, but your terse response is offensive to say the least.

    DB
Ps; then you go and sabatoge your sincere question with more preaching, damn girl, will you ever try something new, for once maybe!

Sorry, Danny... I lost family in Vietnam. Still remember the 'pain'. Lot of young boy cousins, neighbors, etc., 'drafted' all.. yada, yada, yada. You hit a 'nerve' I guess. I DO have them and from time to time they rear their 'ugly' head. I apologize.

Not seeking attention. Just trying to make 'sense' out of what doesn't really MAKE sense to me.

(I do think TR's response was kinda... well, nevermind. Shelby must always talk 'sweet', yes? I gotcha... WILL do! Soorrryyyy, TR!)

    Peace, DBear.

Oh, and DBearMan? Forgive me, but:

I gave you a sincere response. I wasn't looking to debate with you who has a son or daughter in the military.

I did not actually see a response to ME from you. I thought you were responding to TJ, who responded to me... and so I just tried to understand something you said. My bad.

    Peace.

    Shelby,

See there you go again. Play'n the martyr.

How in the world you interpreted my rather 'prickly' response to you, as indicating that I did not want you to speak your mind. I can not fathom!!!!

I will try to untie my tounge and say it again.

You asked for some answer's or may I suggest opinions on the matter of why the Pres got all the acalades. True?

Well everyone who considered your question to be in fact sincere, responded. That was good, no?

Ok, then your response was flipant if not almost challenging in its tone. Then you top it off, by taking the occasion to preach.

I must have cotton in my keyboard, or just have a lame enough mind, to not be able to get my point made. I will keep trying, but you just have 'ears' but are unwilling to 'see'. My feeble attempt at sounding spiritual an all. :)

But I like Farkel still love ya!

    Danny,

I see your point and usually would agree with it, but I found something chilling about both the speech and the room's behavior. "If you don't support us, then you are our enemy," he said. Every one stood and gave a rousing applause.

Sorry, but "Hitler" crossed my mind.

I don't know for how much longer, but we still live in a "democracy" where dissenting views are still allowed and protected by law.

"No, I don't support you, dammit, but that does NOT make me an enemy. There's more than YOUR WAY of looking at this deal, Mr. Bush." Those who have a different perspective are increasingly seen as "unpatriotic" and viewed with suspicion. "Get on the bandwagon, for chrissakes! What's wrong with you, you Muslim lover!!!?"

The whole thing, starting along about Thursday, has been bugging me. Tonight's performance did nothing to ease my anxiety.

    peace,
    tj

    Shelby,

You are right, I did not include your name, so how would you know I was talk'n to you both.

Ooops, there goes my foot again. But you must know my other comments were made with the proviso that you understood my response, was due to your sincere question.

Sorry for lumbering around like a big bear, and not paying attention to the small detail....who was I talking to...dah.

No, Danny, I 'see' what you are saying. But I just wish you would see what I am saying:

I asked a question about the accolades for George Bush. Period. You and TR responded with, what to me, was irrelevant to the question. And... against my better judgment... I responded to that. And I did so with a bit of chagrin, which I explained in my last post: it was close to 'home'. I just had a young friend, a 'son'... ship out to the Persian Gulf. A young man I tried to talk out of enlisting but who went ahead because the RECRUITERS told him Desert Storm was pretty much 'it'. No one was gonna 'mess with us' after that.

    Yeah, right.

I just wondered if Bush had DONE something I didn't know about, or if it was simply a show of unity... I didn't bring God into it at all, but responded when He was. SIGH! I apologize for doing that. Then again, you know what? No, I don't. I apologize if my response OFFENDED you...

I am not a martyr, Danny, nor do I wish to be. I wish to speak as I do freely, just as everyone else here does. I don't deride, or slander or speak with malice. But I do have some passionate feelings of my own... and this issue... leaders hiding behind innocents... is one of them. I would NEVER have 'gone there' myself. Why was it okay for you all to?

    Peace.

    Tj,

I don't remember him saying in these words

****"If you don't support us, then you are our enemy," ****

I remember these words in gist 'you are either on our side, or your on the side of the terrorists'.

I never heard what you describe, were we listening to the same speech?

Yes he made mention of Hitler and every other despot, who has come to an ignominious demise. He used them to make his point. These terrorists are worse than those former evil men, they will not escape the destiny, their comrades of evil and hate, met. So be it!

    ps tj,

and the comment made about 'against us' was in the context of those nations who harbor terrorists.

    Danny, may I ask:

Are there truly only two sides? I don't understand that, really. If that's the case, can you explain it to me?

    Peace.
