New Biography of Pastor Russell

  I always wondered if the Russells made thier millions by being profiteers during the Civil War. There are tales of cheap clothing being provided for the troops, shoes made of paper and faulty materials used for pants etc. I know the Russells has a habadashery during that time and I always wondered if they were somehow involved in that sort of stuff. I guess there's no way to find out. I just wish there was.

  Someone out there really believes in Russell's turn of the previous century millenial hoodoo? Wow. I am stunned. I knew about the splinter groups, the IBSA fringe groups, I just didn't think anyone with a modern mind would buy into that dog and pony show.

  Good luck with Jesus' invisible presence since 1874. Its been a long time and we aint had no maggie geddon yet.

  The book has plenty of photos and illustrations along with references, biblogrpahy. The book has 12 chapters and 4 appendixes.

  And yes, there are tens of thousands of BIble Students worldwide who still believe!

  Thanks, RR, for telling us about the book. There are not too many works on C. T. Russell around. Many of us may disagree with some of the material but it looks like it'll be a significant book for those who research WT history.

  Actually there are several biographies on C.T. Russell in the works and some that have already been written, just waiting for a publisher. One was actually authored by a Catholic priest who loved C.T. Russell for some reason.

  Another called "Heroes of the Faith" is completed and traces all the influences of C.T. Russell.

  "The People's Pastor" is still in the works and traces the Millerite movement and Adventist movement then introduces Russell and his ministry.

  There have been smaller works (booklets) published like "In the days of C.T. Russell", "Soliders of the Cross" and "Daughters of the Tower" which traces the various groups who split off in 1917.

  any knowledge or light coming from God must be like its

  author. A new view of truth never can contradict a former truth.

  "New light" never extinguishes older "light," but adds to it. If

  you were lighting up a building containing seven gas jets you

  would not extinguish one every time you lighted another, but

  would add one light to another and they would be in harmony

  and thus give increase of light: So is it with the light of truth; the

  true increase is by adding to, not by substituting one for another.

  Would the Bible Students agree with this Watchtower...
