On the other hand, notice what Paul says:
"For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered over the desert. Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry." We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did -- and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. We should not test the Lord, as some of them did -- and were killed by snakes. And do not grumble, as some of them did -- and were killed by the destroying angel. These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come....You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he? ... Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have died. But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment" (1 Corinthians 10:1-21, 11:27-31).
JWs have no idea that Paul said that.
John 1:1 In <en> the beginning <arche> was <en> the Word <logos>, and <kai> the Word <logos> was <en> with <pros> God <theos>, and <kai> the Word <logos> was <en> God <theos>.
3056. logos
Search for G3056 in KJVSL logoV logos log'-os from 3004; something said (including the thought); by implication, a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension, a computation; specially, (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (i.e. Christ):--account, cause, communication, X concerning, doctrine, fame, X have to do, intent, matter, mouth, preaching, question, reason, + reckon, remove, say(-ing), shew, X speaker, speech, talk, thing, + none of these things move me, tidings, treatise, utterance, word, work. Logos is used in Greek in reference to people, but only Jesus is the logos of God. It may seem that God of the OT was so different from Jesus but not to me now. I used to until I started really delving into the OT.

Can you give examples as to why you have a changed opinion?
Thanks. Juni
Sure. As a JW I had thought God was a crazy Terminator hell bent on squashing me like a bug at Armageddon at the first sign of imperfections.
I did a lot of research on OT books. Looked at them in context. Compared the nature of God versus the nature of Jesus.
Deuteronomy 7:7-9 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Deuteronomy 7:13 And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
Deuteronomy 10:19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Nehemiah 1:5 and said, I beg you, Yahweh, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments:WEB
Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; And those that seek me diligently shall find me.
Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Ezekiel 16:8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine. (skirt is a symbol of tender affection for a spouse)
The entire book of Hosea is a picture of God's love and Hosea is instructed again and again to go get his wife who returned to prostitution. At one time he had to buy her back.
Hosea 14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save,he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Zechariah 8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.
The God of the OT was full of love and compassion. He forever reached out to His children. God hates sin, sin separates us from God. Jesus shares the same nature as the Father. While on earth Jesus was still equel in nature but subordinant in function. God and Jesus both are;
Omnipotent, Omniscient, all loving, just, full of grace, faithful, etc..God the Father stills draws all people to His love through the blood of Jesus.

How can this be? Why such a difference in personality if they are the same "person"? And if you feel that they are two separate individuals then why is the Father so different from the Son?
I see the Father as God, above the law he gave for man (not to be judged). I see the Son as God, in subjection to the law of God (who was judged by man).
John 19:6
When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.I do not believe they are the same "person", but two parts of the same "Jehovah" God.

Leolaia, I happen to be one of jehovahs Witnesses and we believe Jesus was indeed a Master Worker for his father and was used mightyly by his father all through the wilderness trek, so yes,
our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.Praise Jah all you People!!!!
Praise Jah all you People!!!!
Gumblemonkey that still triggers a feeling of nausea
Jah doesn't appear often in the Bible yet it seems like we heard it every week
If we are to be..or are sons of God...why did he call His brothers "little children"?
I can only guess...I am not allowed to read His mind today (unlike others who claim they can)..But could it have actually have been Him showing us how to be his sons...by showing(not just telling) how He would like His sons to act? by actually showing what a son of God should do..and be prepared to do to protect their weaker brothers and sisters?
I can only guess though.....
Is that like saying judge yourself...and stop judging others?
