If you're going to keep doing this you are going to have to adjust your attitude, or just tell them you can't make it for awhile. Offer no reason. Do you have responsibilities? I couldn't go and sit there, it would melt my brain. I feel for you.

I'd say, just take a stand for depression. It's coming anyway if you keep this up. I assume the wife is a dyed in the wool witnoid?

    Good Luck.

The quickest way to get your Sundays back, is to ask the elders questions about the UN involvement etc. You will stir up a hornet's nest !!!

But then I don't know your family situation. Each of us has to approach this action in our own way and time.

The JWs had over thirty years (the best years) of my life, how I wish I had found out the truth about the "truth" years ago. Now I'm 61 (going on 30) and realise that it's all downhill from now !

I will be at the meeting this afternoon also. You are not alone in this situation .

It is easy for those with no connected family to say "screw em'", but with family it is not that easy ... Be thankful for your "great wife" and 2 girls.

Seriously though, many of us have been there.Constantly finding excuses not to go listen to all that bollocks.Trust me,when you do decide to stop going,as im confident you will, there will be no going back! You wont even be able to imagine sitting in that Damn Hall ever again, much less actually go!

    Greetings 5th,

Just stay home. It's amazing that almost every Sunday, even though it's been years now that we haven't gone. My wife and I always say the same thing as we sit in our hot tub drinking mimosas on SUnday mornings. "Can you believe we spent all those years running like chickens with our heads cut off...."

Stay home! It gets easier and easier. I promise.

So sorry you still have to put up with that bs, I'm glad I don't.

I hope your day improves after the meeting anyway.

I resent that statement...it's not that easy and many of us here do still have famiy connections. It was easy enough of you to make that broad statement.

The only thing you have to change is everything.

Dragged out of bed 8:30am. Shower half Awake! Suck down some coffee. Stretch on a shirt and tie. Go to the KH. Get accosted by the elders. Listen to 2 hours of stuff I've heard a million times already! Feel guilty and useless. Boy, I love Sundays!

Would your wife flip if you just said "I don't feel like going today"???
