    Hi MM,
Sorry you have to put with that kind of crap...
Good job for having enough dignity and respect to not tear her a new one!

No offense.... but I don't think I like your mom anymore....
pity... her daughter is a princess.

Thanks Gordon.....Thanks all of you! That is why I love these boards!

On a side note....I do have a great MIL who said she would beat up my mom...Then she asked if she was bigger than her...and when I said she was...she said well, then she would hit her and run real fast!

The Bible says we would recieve spiritual family if we lose any because of him....and I have found that here!

    HUGS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HI MegsMomma -

It is interesting how your mom's behavior just echoes the control she is under. She is trying to guilt you and control you into what she believe's in, and the organization does the same thing to her. So sad. My mom is the same way. I just had a run in with her last night. It was awful so I feel for you.

Hang in there. She may never come around, but as you make a new life for yourself you will have control over it!! :)

    Good luck.

    Becky

Coronagirl....I was responding to your post at the same time. I appreciate your response....it has got to be a cult when it makes people all act crazy and evil even. I am glad you have the support of the rest of your family. Maybe you all can meet at one of your houses from now on, and let your mom know she is always welcome...since it is HER that shuns...not you.

Gotta love it. Here is the real rub with JW's...They would like nothing better than to point out (if not carry out) the fact that in bible days you would be stoned. Mean while they find it laughable when someone mentions adhering to the ten comandments. The commandments were nailed to the stake with jesus but not the stoning.

Yeah, my dad threw that line at me as well. And you know what? It worked. I ran back to the KH just as fast as I could and I am in good standing now. (Just kidding) Him saying that just made me mad. Reckon there is some secret training for parents going on at the hall?

meg: i turned this wt stunt around on jw's dozens of times. basically by telling them that if they preached this garbage (pick your wt false prophecy). in jewish times each time they were wrong the leaders of the wt would have been taken out to the town square and stoned to death. and any that still agreed that the wt was right would also be stoned. it's a great arguement. and puts jw's in their place fast. john

All of the JWs in my family are my in-laws, and, as such, they wouldn't dare say something like that to me. If they did, the only thing that'd better beat them out my house is the first warning shot.

My mom had said to me last time she was here..."It's a good thing we are not in Bible times, you would be stoned!"(with hatred and sarcasm in her voice)

My Parents quit saying this to me.... every time they would say it, I would look dad/mom straight in the eyes and say something like, "yeah, I wish we were in bible times, cause i like getting stoned!"

    PEACE, Mike
