wow I go out for a few hours and come back to see wonderful inspiring songs you have found to express similar choices and the losses we experience by leaving the WTS

except for Min. He's on a different track but that's OK too

    This song epitomizes what keeps me going and what I live for;

    I can only imagine
    What it will be like
    When I walk
    By Your side
    I can only imagine
    What my eyes will see
    When Your face
    Is before me
    I can only imagine
    I can only imagine
    [Chorus]:
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
    I can only imagine
    I can only imagine
    When that day comes
    And I find myself
    Standing in the Son
    I can only imagine
    When all I will do
    Is forever
    Forever worship You
    I can only imagine
    I can only imagine

    Hurray for a child
    That makes it through
    If there's any way
Because the answer lies in you

    They're laid to rest
Before they know just what to do
    Their souls are lost
    Because they
    could never find

    What's this life for
    What's this life for
    What's this life for

I see your soul, its kinda grey
You see my heart, you look away
You see my wrist, I know your pain
I know your purpose on your plane

    Don't say a last prayer
    Because you could never find

    What's this life for
    What's this life for
    What's this life for
    What's this life for

    But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle the score
    Cause we all live
Under the reign of one king
    But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no God damn score
cause we all live under the
Reign I said we live under

    One king
    One king
    One king

I love this song, I was the one that thought it was a good idea to become a witness, no one forced me and I have no one to blame for my actions. I have no resentment and no anger, it is what it is, it's over now and I lost a lot of people that I cared about but I know everything will be okay, someone once told me that anyone can be replaced and I believe that's true. I lost a lot but I have gained a lot too, I don't have a score to settle with the Society and I think that at some point I wont think of myself as an ex JW anymore just as Lola.

Roll me away - Bob Seger

Took a look down a westbound road,
Right away I made my choice
Headed out to my big two-wheeler,
I was tired of my own voice
Took a bead on the northern plains
And just rolled that power on

Twelve hours out of mackinaw city
Stopped in a bar to have a brew
Met a girl and we had a few drinks
And I told her what Id decided to do
She looked out the window a long long moment
Then she looked into my eyes
She didnt have to say a thing,
I knew what she was thinkin

    Roll, roll me away,
Wont you roll me away tonight
    I too am lost, I feel double-crossed
And Im sick of whats wrong and whats right
We never even said a word,
We just walked out and got on that bike
    And we rolled
And we rolled clean out of sight

We rolled across the high plains
    Deep into the mountains
    Felt so good to me
    Finally feelin free

    Somewhere along a high road
The air began to turn cold
She said she missed her home
    I headed on alone

Stood alone on a mountain top,
Starin out at the great divide
I could go east, I could go west,
It was all up to me to decide
Just then I saw a young hawk flyin
And my soul began to rise
    And pretty soon
    My heart was singin

    Roll, roll me away,
Im gonna roll me away tonight
Gotta keep rollin, gotta keep ridin,
Keep searchin till I find whats right
    And as the sunset faded
I spoke to the faintest first starlight
    And I said next time
    Next time
    Well get it right

I love "Beautiful Child" by Rufus Wainwright. It reminds me that I can be a child again and all is not lost. And his voice is so very lovely. This song makes me cry every time.

When I am older than these small god damned hills
And there's no reason for my mind to be still
Oh, how I'll feel like a beautiful child
    Such a beautiful child again

When I have finally found my room filled with toys
Be banging on my crib excited by noise
Oh, how I'll feel like a beautiful child
    Such a beautiful child again

And when there's nothing to gain
Or bring me pain or pin the blame
    On you or myself

    And when they finally fall
These wailing walls and burdened crosses
    God's twilights and all
How I'll feel like a beautiful child
    Such a beautiful child again

I Get Knocked Down by Chumbwamba

    We'll be singing
    When we're winning
    We'll be singing
    I get knocked down
    But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down
    Pissing the night away
    Pissing the night away
    He drinks a whisky drink
    He drinks a vodka drink
    He drinks a lager drink
    He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him
    Of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him
    Of the better times:
    "Oh Danny Boy
    Danny Boy
    Danny Boy..."
    I get knocked down
    But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down
    Pissing the night away
    Pissing the night away
    He drinks a whisky drink
    He drinks a vodka drink
    He drinks a lager drink
    He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him
    Of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him
    Of the better times:
    "Don't cry for me
    Next door neighbour..."
    I get knocked down
    But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down
    We'll be singing
    When we're winning
    We'll be singing
    -------------------------------------------------

Why do I love this song above all others when things look bleak? Because I got whopped over the head with an extra dose of spunk and even when I hate myself, I want to show all the arrogant jerks that I don't bow down to any self-proclaimed yazzoo! Oh, and the beat rocks...
