When I have crises of faith in my life, I always get a bit agnostic. I found myself feeling like that at fourteen when I nearly died. I found myself feeling this way when I left the org completely. I've never been an athiest. Agnostic, though. Yes. But not anymore. Not since I went back to the Episcopal Church, the one I was raised in, this past ten months. There I found the God of unconditional love I knew as a child.
Now, I take this song by Paul McCartney and apply it to God, plus the song is so intense and beautiful, it just makes my spirit soar:
Maybe I'm Amazed
Baby (God) Im amazed at the way you love me all the time
Maybe Im afraid of the way I love you
Baby (God) I'm amazed at the the way you pulled me out of time
Hung me on a line
Maybe Im amazed at the way I really need you
Baby Im a (wo)man and maybe Im a lonely (w)man
Whos in the middle of something
That (s)he dosent really understand
Babe (God) I'm a (wo)man and maybe youre the only (God) woman
Who could ever help me
Baby (God) wont you help to me understand
(lead solo)
Baby Im a (wo)man and maybe Im a lonely (wo)man
Who's in the middle of something
That (s)he dosent really understand
Babe Im a (wo)man and maybe youre the only (God) woman
Who could ever help me
Baby (God) wont you help me understand
Baby (God) Im amazed at the way youre with me all the time
Maybe Im afraid of the way I leave you
Baby (God) I'm amazed at the way you help me sing my song
You right me when Im wrong
Maybe Im amazed at the way I really need you
