Cool! I'm not the only one who finds that Triumph tunes keep me going. I don't know what it is about those tunes, but they're almost magical. I'll add my favorite which helped me forge on with my own plans and desires regardless of who told me they were right or wrong:

    Follow Your Heart - Triumph

People say Don't ever look behind
Happiness is just a state of mind
Rock and Roll lives and breathes in the hearts of the young
So carry on You're runnin' on borrowed time
    Tryin' hard to survive
Keep on runnin' Your time in comin'
    Keep your dreams alive

    CHORUS:
Follow Your Heart (You got to Follow Your Heart)
Living for the day, forget about tomorrow
Follow Your Heart (You got to Follow Your Heart)
Any other way can only lead to sorrow
    Don't wait any longer
    Follow Your Heart

Plays for keeps And try to never lose
Live it fast but live the life you choose
Rock and Roll lives and breathes in the hearts of the young
So let it ride Each time you roll the dice
    Luck will finally arrive
Keep on runnin' Your time is comin'
    Keep your dreams alive

    CHORUS

    Oh, listen to the rhythm
    Your heart won't lie
    Rock and Roll hearts
    Just never die, never die

    CHORUS

    Good Girl or Bad Girl?
have you ever gotten a chance to see them live?
What about you Daystar, goodand badgirl?

I saw them once at the Salem Armory during their OK Computer tour in the U.S. Funny thing was I wasn't as big a fan then. That all changed that night though. They were amazing! Now they're my favorite band of all time and "Let Down" is my fav. on OKC. I've always wanted to see them again but they don't come around my neck of the woods too often.

smellgsood, lost_light, daystar, anybody else, have you heard their Reggae version of OK Computer? http://www.easystar.com/latestnewsrelease121505.html It's pretty different. I like it.

I'll Never Join a Cult Again

    sung to

I'll Never Fall In Love Again

    Burt Bacharach / Hal David

What do you get when you join a cult? 3 guys with a pin to burst your bubble That's what you get for all your trouble. I'll never join a cult again. I'll never join a cult again. What do you get when you kiss up to these guys? You get enough germs to catch pneumonia. After you stop, they'll never phone you. (hopefully) I'll never join a cult again. I'll never join a cult again. Don't tell me what it's all about, 'Cause I've been there and I'm glad I'm out, Out of those chains, those chains that bind you That is why I'm here to remind you What do you get when you join a cult? You get enough tears to fill an ocean That's what you get for your devotion. I'll never join a cult again. I'll never join a cult again. What do you get when you join a cult? You only get lies and pain and sorrow. So, for at least until tomorrow, I'll never join a cult again! I'll never join a cult again!

    (Part of Bacharach/David Medley)

Don't tell me what it's all about `Cause I've been there and I'm glad I'm out Out of those chains, those chains that bind you That is why I'm here to remind you. (here to mind you) 3x What do you get when you join a cult? You only get lies and pain and sorrow So, for at least, until tomorrow I'll never join a cult again Oh, I'll never join a cult again

    Good Girl or Bad Girl?

I mean, it's not Radiohead singing/performing, obviously, but it's their OK Computer album.

    Anyway, have a listen:

Triumph: "I'm Young Wild and Free"

I'm young now I'm wild now I'm FREEEEEE

Got the magic power and the music in me!

Music has always kept me going. It's the "magic power" that gives me energy, spunk, life...

I went through a deep depression in the 90's, which started as post partum after having my twins. During this time the JWs got to me AND I had stopped listening to my music. This threw me into such deep, dark depths and the entire time I was JW I was out of balance. (really? no kidding?)

One day I started listening to my old albums and CDs. I remember feeling the old energy, feeling like my old self. My husband was working out of town and I had begun to miss meetings. Boy, wasn't that the beginning of my awakening. I remember those days sitting all night long blasting my music and surfing the internet, finding H2O and Freeminds...

One thing I'm glad about is that my kids don't remember me that way. All of their memories are of mom jumping on the couch singing and dancing, playing with them, buying them instruments, getting them into music. And now they have a rock band that plays in our garage.

The days of no Christmas presents, no Halloween, no neighborhood friends over are nothing but a dim memory. No damage was done to them. They barely even remember going door-knocking. BUT ... they DO remember the donuts and "goody night" LOL.

I found the song by Maxwell that I like called "This Woman's Work". It reminds me of my mother and it reminds me how we should treat our loved ones now, while they're alive.

I can hear your soul crying
    Listen to your spirit sighing
    I can feel your desperation
    Emotional deprivation

    Let yourself go
    Let yourself go
    Let your feelings show

    Picking up the conversation
    Deep in your imagination
    Tune into the lonely voices
    Talking of their only choices

    Let yourself go
    Let yourself go
    Let your spirit grow

    Step out of your cage
    And onto the stage
    It's time to start
    Playing your part
    Freedom awaits
    Open the gates
    Open your mind
    Freedom's a state

I can taste the tears falling
    The bitterness inside you calling
    Yearning for a liberation
    Emotional emancipation

    Let yourself go
    Let yourself go
    Let your senses overflow

    Step out of your cage
    And onto the stage
    It's time to start
    Playing your part
    Freedom awaits
    Open the gates
    Open your mind
    Freedom's a state

I prefer the original version by Kate Bush from her Sensual World album - amazing, no one could do it better in my view.

    Agree with your sentiments though!

Fight The Good Fight by TRIUMPH

The days grow shorter and the nights are getting long
Feels like we're running out of time

Every day it seems much harder tellin' right from wrong
You got to read between the lines

Don't get discouraged, don't be afraid, we can
    Make it through another day
Make it worth the price we pay

The Good Book says it's better to give than to receive
I do my best to do my part

Nothin' in my pockets I got nothin' up my sleeve
I keep my magic in my heart

Keep up your spirit, keep up your faith, baby
    I am counting on you
You know what you've got to do

    CHORUS:
Fight the good fight every moment
    Every minute every day
Fight the good fight every moment
    It's your only way

All your life you've been waiting for your chance
Where you'll fit into the plan

But you're the master of your own destiny
So give and take the best that you can

You think a little more money will buy your soul some rest
You'd better think of something else instead

You're so afraid of being honest with yourself
You'd better take a look inside your head

Nothing is easy, nothing good is free
But I can tell you where to start
Take a look inside your heart

There's an answer in your heart

    CHORUS
