As an elder, I knew a lot of things that happened in the congregation, including "secret sins". What I also knew was that some persons were quite good at being sneaky----especially the teens. Years after my daughter stopped hanging around certain friends and she was in her 20's, she told me little juicy tidbits of what some of her best friends regularly got away with. Most were into heavy drinking, smoking (all sorts of things) and sex. Regarding sex, most kids felt that if they "hooked up", no one would tattle on them. And most times they were right. JW kids know how to play the game and do what they must to keep everyone happy......Were there some things that you knew about that either coul've or did get people into trouble???

We went ot Las Vegas with a couple who are still very active Dubs who couldn't get to a slot machine fast enough. They just about slipped on their asses running across the Bellagio lobby floor to get into the casino.
But then again Jehovah can't see through the casino ceiling

I used to go with Witnesses and on the QT I'd go to the casinos and gamble while I was supposed to be taking "a walk".

I knew 2 MS and their wifes that would go 30 miles to go to the bars. After I got DF'd I ran into them. Of course, I had to be nice and send them some drinks!!
I knew someone, that once she got her driver's license, would skip school and go to a friend's house, and PARTY (and other things) !! Of course, this was with a non JW, didn't ever get caught!! When a certain "weak" jw would come and visit his cousin, I'd skip school or lie, and say I was babysitting, so I could be with him.
There were a couple older jw teens that hooked up, and never got caught. I knew of a couple young pioneers that would party at night, then arrange to meet for field service the next morning and go in the same car. Instead of preaching- they'd go home and take a nap. Now that was some easy time put in!!

Years after leaving I was living in Franconia New Hampshire and we went to town one evening to buy beer, etc. Lo and behold, who got out of a car but 2 middle aged Witnesses from the congo in Boston I once was associated with. Only problem, one was married to another sister, the other was single. They were all lovey dovey in fall foliage splendor and the look on their face to see me as they were kissing and spending a romantic weekend together. I wished them well and gave them a few hints on a good place to stay and grab dinner.

Yes... I was referring to your 'assistance.' I wouldn't make a scene about it, but I wouldn't point out 'amenities,' either. Actually...I don't know if I'm lying. I wonder if I would feel compelled to say something--that I won't tell anyone, but that the wife deserves to be considered through all this. Maybe I wouldn't say anything...but I DO know I wouldn't point out fun stuff to do together. I believe in the respect of fidelity.
