When I was 16 years old and the wall between east and west germany was still there, brothers went to east germany to bring goods and bibles to the poor brothers and sisters. I once joined them and it was very dangerous etc. so therefor I liked it a lot. After all the booring stuff, this was exciting! I found out that 2 of the 3 brothers had a girl friend there! Everybody admired them for the good work they did, and they just couldn't stop to help the brothers in need at the other side of the iron curtain! These girlfriends were no JW's by the way.

I know of an elder that paid for his lovin, and a couple dudes that used to come drunk alot, one was an elders brother though, so they left him alone. I know of a "prominent" eldogs daughters that slept aroundm i know lots of kids growing up that did all sorts of naughties, but no one ever told on each other..all that usual stuff.

Nothing terrible, except for teenagers getting away with stuff and elders and ministerial servants who liked to caress a teenager's knee when no one was looking...I remember being appalled when I saw JWs at the beach drinking beer but I realized later that it isn't a sin, just me being a judgemental JW and rather puritanical.

My JW mother delivering babies (she was a nurse) with a JW doctor named Dr. Campbell, in Vancouver BC ""underground"" during the '70's to Rh negative moms to avoid the blood issue...until one died (a boy).... and then they hid all the equipment at our home during the investigation!

My ex-father-in-law had a baby with my pioneer ex-sister-in-law...so my children have an aunt who's also their cousin...and yes, there's more.

Although most of the wife-swapping-swinger rumors seem to be just that, I do know of one verified case.

Two 20-something couples just suddenly turned up out of nowhere and started going to our cong. They really liked to socialize and have card parties and drink wine. We used to go out on my boat on Saturday afternoon. Both my ex-wife and I noticed that they seemed to be getting a little "too friendly". Another witness couple noticed the same thing - you know, hands on your upper leg during card games under the table, accidentallly showing the titties out on the boat, etc. Nothing more - no way to prove anything without making ourselves look like idiots, so we stayed quiet.

We just quit their party circuit and both these couples soon disappeared. We later heard that the husband of one and the wife of the other ran off. The other two confessed it all to the elders - they were in fact going to different congregations and "cruising" for participants.

Again, I am not saying this was at all common, but the subject does come up once in a while.
