......With these transporting prospects so close before us , let us keep theocratic organization and let God continue improving it as a new world society------- from the November 1, 1950 Watchtowerpage 418 .

In fact that was so long ago, that they were still making 500 page Watchtowers...

Anyways... What special knowledge does your aunt have that your mother or even the GB doesn't know about? After 1995s generation thing, there is no reason for them to believe that Harmageddon will come before the year 2500 aside from their own impatience and wishfull thinking. (Wishing her relatives and neighbors would hurry up and get eaten by gods birds so she can take their houses.)

My aunt's aflutter over the JW grapevine's gossip about how all the Society biggies are telling different ones that this IS indeed the big one!

Yes, I got a little missive telling me to get back to the KH (only inactive no need to reinstate) before I die...as if there is some magical barrier around the KH and everyone not fortunate enough to be inside one will die. Did Noah's ark represent KHs? Doesn't this prove that JWs believe that everyone who is not a JW will die?

    Dear Min,

I was told the same thing, my mother came out of a shunning scenerio to let me know I have "minimus" time left to get back in.

    Yawn.......

"Greendawn they can't afford to do that, telling the flock that armageddon will be soon is the only weapon they have left to get them out on the bookselling rounds." Yes Fullofdoubtnow, obviously the FDS will never fully explain to the Dubs the implications of the generation change but the dubs themselves don't seem to realise how they are being taken for a ride with false promises about a soon to be end to suffering and oppression. Ironically be believing in this end of oppression they become oppressed.

I guess that would be the mantra of Jehovahs Witnesses Get Back In Before It's Too Late!

Can someone tell me when it's time, so I can scamper over to the Hell and dive inside? Naturally, Jehoopla will never guess that I haven't been attending for twenty years, and I can hide in the ark of salivation salvation!

You've been too gone, too long,

it's too late to come back now

It's been so long since you walked out my door

now you're just an old song nobody sings anymore

And it's too late, baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it (Really did try to make it)
Something inside has died and I can't hide it,
I just can't fake it. No, no, no, no.

About a month ago there was a fairly strong earthquake in Hawaii. My JW aunt, who lives there, sent out a general e-mail to friends and family the next day. Jokingly, she said the earthquake really bothered her because she hadn't been in field service for a month! Even though this was said in jest, it is revealing of the way witnesses look at salvation - regular meeting attendance and field service and your in! Not to mention shunning the DF'd and not celebrating holidays. Like filling up a book of green stamps (remember those?) and you get to live forever!
