"Before it's too late", when will that be exactly? Just seven more days and Jehovah will shut the door.So, who shuts the door, the Governing Body or Jehovah, and when is it too late? Your aunt hasn't given you enough information to get back before it is too late.

Andersons, Thanks for your reply. I just saw it thanks to Hawkaw. It does seem that the JWs are being told to tell everyone that's inactive to come back before it's too late. Perhaps they believe wholeheartedly in the direction that they have been given. We all know how blind Witnesses really are. I don't think your son purposely gave you a tract to rub it in. My aunt, who I generally have never seen eye to eye with, I believe, has my best interests at heart. She's 83, a regular pioneer and a "True Believer". The old green NWT was white if the GB said so. Unfortunately, very little can change those who decide to stick their brains in the sand. It's sad, really.

minimus: We certainly agree with your thoughts on this matter. Yes, our son was sincere, but we know him well enough to know that he was doing what the Watchtower org. said to do. Like all JWs, they need guidance from "mother" and are afraid to do something like sending "apostates" the new brochure without it being suggested by WT. Since he's not supposed to communicate with us especially not about "spiritual" matters, it's doubtful our son decided to send us the latest WT brochure without direction from the higherups. Yes, it's sad, but hopefully, one day, with more and more media attention to the harmful aspects of this religion, being a "persecuted" Witness just won't be worth what it takes to remain one.

I believe you may be right. It goes a long way towards explaining a strange email I received from a jw today, which I posted on here earlier. I used to be in his congregation, and he has emailed me before, usually protesting at the content of the anti jw website I run. However, today he sent me an alleged "experience" of 2 jws who almost left the org, but decided to get back in before it was "too late". Maybe that was the reason he sent it, I had assumed it was a joke.
Whatever his reason, I won't be going back. I have no desire to be part of an organisation that protects paedophiles either, apart from believing them to be lying, manipulative hypocrites anyway.

IF higher ups did instruct your son to distribute the tract, then obviously he and they are guilty of spiritual association with known apostates. You well know that this action is against their own rules. Any type of such spiritual association is wrong! On top of that, any spiritual assistance is supposed to come thru a committee to ask for reinstatement. Otherwise, you're supposed to be treated as dead. Your son's spiritual involvement with you should have been discouraged---not suggested! If anyone else did this same thing, they'd be counseled and perhaps other sanctions would be taken against them. You know---- theocratic rules are theocratic rules.

Minimus! I haven't had the 'pleasure' of such a direct 'message' from my family yet! There's been a lot of huffing and puffing about my older son moving in with his lovely girlfriend but no 'the sky is falling YET!'
However, IF I ever receive such a warning, I already know my reply and so that is sorted.
I will simply ask them 'how often has the WTBTS given out this warning?' Then, 'how many times has it come true?' And finally I will make my own little 'prophecy' and ask them to mark the date. I will simply say that in twenty to thirty years time, if the WTBTS is still around and if we as individuals are still alive, Armageddon will still NOT have come, because it is never going to come. It is all a lie and I want them to remember the date I told them this.
That will be all. There is no other argument anymore. I've done with 'silly' JW family and am seriously considering reporting them to the elders for continuing to fraternize with the enemy!!! For God's sake! What do you have to do to get these people to shun you and stop telling you that the 'sky is falling!!!???' Why can't they be 'good little JWs' like my husband's 'obedient little JWs' family?
To be honest, I really DON'T want to hear how we're all going to die soon if we don't go back to them meetings. It is something that has continually been insinuated to us since we left and I HAVE NO MORE PATIENCE!
Every so often Disassociating seems such a good idea, but with elderly parents you have to wonder whether you really want to be as stupid as them and play the WTBTS silly and pathetic game any more.
What to do, what to do?
I don't want regrets in the future and yet I really can't bear to hear the WT bull shit any more!
