I dont know what I would do If I found loose money laying around. In the airport........probably what you did. I think I would be more bothered that someone saw me pick it up, and pocket it lol....... I would feel terrible if I started walking away, and was stopped and asked why I didnt turn it in, especially in a busy place like that with cameras everywhere.

Mary........Your new nick name is robin hood.......how could you?

Lets say you go throught the bank drive through, and cash a check. They give you an extra hundred bucks.........Would you tell them? (i have to admit, I didnt, and felt guilty)

Yes, I'd keep it for all the overdraft charges they've charged me in the past!!!

If you found a wallet with alot of money in it, would you keep it? (I wouldnt, cuz I know how much I would appreciate it if someone returned mine)

Keep the money return the wallet - getting all your personal stuff is so much more important, the money would be a finders fee!

How about just a plain envelope, or bag of money with no name? Would you turn it into the police? (still pondering over that one) lol

Nope, would keep it under my mattress until I needed it, wouldn't even bother with the police

So...have you ever found something? Money or anything of value and kept it?

Not yet, but I have lost my wallet, had it returned, minus the money. Didn't care because I got all my personal stuff back.

I once went to a local deli here and ordered lunch, gave the nasty owner/cashier a $10 and she gave me back change for a $20. I admit that because I didnt like the way she yelled at her migrant (mexican most likely) staff I walked away. I felt a little guilty but not that much since I didnt care for her. I would not deliberately cheat someone though.

I made a deposit of $700.00 and withdrew $100.00 at the same time. The teller gave me $600.00. I couldn't walk away. She had been concentrating on the $600.00 to go into the account.

She wasn't exactly thrilled I brought it to her attention(probably very embarassed)... but I felt decent about it.

I dropped a wallet in a parking lot and had it turned into a store. The person called me to say where she turned it in. I went to the store and they denied ever receiving it....who was I suppose to believe?

Where ever I have worked, I have always done an honest days work. I can't stand to see people cheating employers by surfing the net, dawdling in the bathrooms and kitchens and making long winded personal phone calls.

January of 2006 we had a new air conditioning system put in, we were never billed. The guys seemed really brain dead and there were several problems. Am I going to call and say you need to bill us $1600.00.....NO WAY!

One final test....try this, if your bill is under $10.00 and you hand over a $10.00 folded in half showing 2 tens, you would not believe the amount of people that give you change for $20.00. I would never accept it, but it keeps cashiers on their toes!

Generally speaking, I'll be honest - except if somebody is trying to screw me.

Many years ago I had a part time job in a coat room in a club. I worked the whole night lifting heavy coats and the owner thought she would split the whole take even though she only helped me for maybe a half hour. After a day or so, I quickly wised up and made sure if somebody slipped me a tip it got stuffed in my underwear. I was gonna be god-damned if I would give it to her when she didn't earn it!

I have returned extra money from a bank, wallets, etc.
Once when I got laid-off from a job they gave a severance package.
I was the only one in the companies history to ever get a severance package and be a part time worker.
so they paid me the X weeks of severance at 40 hours, they were supposed to pay at my current part time hours.
I brought the check back and they were thankful (even though they hadn't caught the mistake).
