The Jews today do not eat blood of any kind. They understand that those Mosaic prohibitions were dietary along with other dietary laws. They also understand that the Law was made for the benefit of man, not man for the law's benefit. Human life is very sacred and precious and law should never come before the saving of human life.

This would explain David and his men eating the showbread of the temple, an offense worthy of death. But David was the anointed of Jehovah and had a destiny to fulfill. His death from starvation in order to please the law did not make sense. Jesus too picked grain on the Sabbath for the same reason. Sacred life was involved. Jesus came to the same understanding of the scriptures. The Law is for man, not man for the Law.
People are not to be sacrificed to please the Law.

Anyway, when I heard that explanation a light bulb went on in my mind! I felt that was the true and beautiful understanding that both Christ and David had of the scriptures. The Watchtower on the other hand teaches that people must die if need be to keep the Law whether it be about blood or being a part of the govt. or preaching irritating religious dogma on the doorsteps of the world. Listen to them if you want; their view, as you expressed, makes sense & appeals to the emotions- but has nothing to do with scripture! How would you apply their excuse to the Christian father with family at the Colesium, who was told that if he just sprinkled some incense acknowledging the Emporer as God, that he AND HIS FAMILY would be spared the fate of being chased and ripped apart by the wild animals?

That is a disgusting cop-out...unless Christ's promise of Resurrection is a Lie!

    Hello Brother Mad,

There you are! I've been looking for you. I find you to be a fascinating character. Your presence on this apostate discussion forum is very welcome. The very fact that you spend so much time here gives me hope that you may find some resolution to the doubts and concerns that you surely harbor regarding Jehovah's Witnesses.

Sincerely hoping that you find whatever it is you're looking for on an apostate website,

    Love and respect,

    Nvr

Mad writes:Why thank you so MUCH, NVR! I never expected to receive such AGAPE on THIS board! I don't spend as much time here as I'd like- but it truly IS enjoyable, and puts my faith to the test! The only biblical use of the word "Apostasy" I can remeber, is a reference to those rebelling against Christ (and, by extension, his Father), so it's a word that is as abused a "Christian", in MY book; it has NOTHING to do with working against what you truly believe to be wrong! I DO have concerns about my brotherhood's HQ- but I don't 'harbor' them...unless I feel it would discourage rather than help! What I am "looking for"- and have found- is a religious 'Free-For-All", where we can all express doubts, fears, findings, opinions & feelings- and, hopefully, still remain Friends! Agape, your Brother- the Mad Brother!

Don't think of yourself as a regular Witness, MAD. You are really one of us, you know it.
There are not any regular witnesses here.

Thanks for your kind reply. I knew you're not a troll. Troll's don't wear such cool sunglasses. What I personally found troubling about the brotherhood's HQ is that they unequivocally oppose the "religious 'Free-For-All", where we can all express doubts, fears, findings, opinions & feelings- and, hopefully, still remain Friends!" that you are enjoying here at JWD. That made me wonder, " If we have the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth why be concerned about "apostate" ramblings." The truth, if based solidly upon reality, should stand up against all argumentation. When householders hesitate to speak with us about religion we entreat them to join us in discussion. We say, "We respect that you have your beliefs, but surely no harm can come from simply discussing matters." Once dedicated and baptized, however, such discussion with persons who have discontinued their association with the brotherhood or simply disagree on some points with the brotherhood's HQ is strictly prohibited. Please take no offense personally Brother Mad, but this high-control tactic smacks of cultic behavior.

Sincerely pleased to converse freely and openly with you,

Count me in as full 100% apostate. My apostasy is against: the Wt, religion, and anything else that disagrees with me.

Mad writes: I'm honored- SERIOUSLY, Nvr! What's meant by "Troll", anyways; I rarely crawl outta my art studio...

The only thing that offends me, Nvr- is ridicule of the Almighty.

Any organization ( MAN, am I getting SICK of that word!) has to figure out what rules to lay down to function in an ever-changing environment, and for the good of the new-comers as well. If you are equally honest about a lot of the things said here- and the spirit BEHIND what's said- there is a LOT of Raw Hatred- some justifyed, some not. The Hatred is why one with weak faith does better learning & being encouraged by people of faith. So I understand why the WBTS discourages reading or talking with 'apostates'.

The reason is the Hatred, which is a poison- not any Incredible Revelation they may have. The phony brothers that appear from time to time, do as terrible deeds as church people- but are always dealth with, altho NEVER quick enough for those hurt, because a lot of care is made to avoid deceptive accusations, and get all the facts first. Any deceiver that gets away with discipline from the brotherhood, gets away with nothing at ALL when they before our Lord!

Being older (I'm 55), the brothers don't worry about me talking to apostates- they just worry about the young & new ones.

    Agape, Mad

    Thanks for your reply Mad,

I understand your concern about the hatred that is sometimes evident on here. Perhaps I've even spit a little venom myself. If so, I'm not proud of that. But hatred is, unfortunately, everywhere. Many here genuinely observed hatred in certain teachings and actions they were exposed to while active Witnesses. Some are aware of examples of extreme hypocrisy within the organization. By the way, the WTS itself popularized that term(organization) with reference to the religion. Many simply feel hurt and disappointed about the less than forthcoming behavior that has often characterized the leadership of Jehovah's Witnesses(and by leadership I'm speaking of humans). I do find it amazing that you have found a way to justify your presence here, in spite of repeated, direct counsel from the Governing Body.

    Respectfully,

    Nvr
