Well sweets, I try to have a rational mind. Given the unhealthy terror of demons that Witnesses instill in their kids, I realize that there's not a demon lurking behind every single strange occurance in the world. When I was about 15 years old, I was certain I had had an encounter with a demon in my room at night. I was semi-awake, but couldn't move and I was paralyzed with terror at the feeling that there was something else in the room with me. Years later I had it again. I did some research and realized that what I was experiencing was Sleep Paralysis With that said, I believe there is a spirit world and that it is possible that people can be possessed. I was just looking to see if there was a rational explanation first.

Nope, not that I'm aware of.

DJK said: don't know how he did it. It hurts if I try to do it and everyone around also tried to do it.

Are you sure you're not thinking of when someone's eyes roll over white?

In his article, Black Eyed Kids: A Profile, Barry Napier of UFODigest, writes: "The black eyes … could be nothing more than contact lenses. (Solid black contacts are available.) The most likely scenario is that the few convincing reports were the results of overactive imaginations, and that the string of reports that followed were nothing more than copycat falsified stories used for attention or fun."

This is a possibility Butt. However, in Delilah's case, the woman's eyes rolled over black and then rolled back over normal. This isn't something that any contact lens (that I'm aware of) could do.......

I remember in 1983 I had a very bad toothache and I was waiting in the dentist's office for an extraction. One minute I would be fine, and the next minute I'd have a wave of pain that made me wish my head would finally just explode. My girlfriend was with me, and she said that the whites of my eyes turned blood red when I had such a wave of pain. Not having a mirror, I couldn't verify what she said, and I'm sure there was some exageration on her part as well.

Considering that the mere mention of Jehovah's Witnesses can make many people "see red" and factoring in such things as facial expressions and lighting, I wouldn't immediately assume it was something supernatural.

    Mary:

BTW, Delilah is not a liar, she doesn't exaggerate and she's not insane. Actually, I think she'd be relieved if someone could find a rational explanation for this.

You've just ruled out most of the rational explanations. But there's one left: that Delilah was simply mistaken. Maybe the woman was wearing dark eyeshadow and simply blinked.

But if you want an irrational explanation, there's no shortage. Here's one involving a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, no less:

In September of 1988, at a small convention, I had a chance to walk up to one of the governing body 'elect' to speak to him privately. At that time I thought that they were the 'good' guys and someone was run amuck at headquarters. He was about 5'10". He had dark hair, heavy and powerfully built. His name was Daniel Sedlik and his was of Polish origin. As I reached out to shake his hand, he turned to return the shake. I looked into his eyes and was startled and somewhat terrified to see a thin membrane drop over his human eyes. I don't know if the membrane came from the bottom of his eyelid, or the top. But it was there, and I'd never heard of lizard beings, but I remember thinking how much his eyes looked like those of a lizard. The membrane dropped over his eyes when he looked at me and he seemed to recognize me, although at the time I couldn't imagine why. The sense of terrible danger that I had and the need to get away from him was overwhelming. Thankfully, others of the 'flock' spotted him and kept him from following me.

Perhaps Delilah also had an encounter with one of the reptilian overlords <--- just some regular eye-rolling there.

Funky D! Once again you have made me laugh.

I bet this person has this as a bar gag and every religion they hear outloud causes them to roll the eyes. They probably practice freaking people out. Just to scare them. Maybe?

So if she was wearing contacts, how did her eyes go back to normal again?

OK, that's the second time someone has mentioned a "bar gag" being used. How would that work?

    Thank you Mister Smarty Pants.

Finally Free, those contact lenses are in fact quite creepy and would fit the bill. However, as Warlock asked, How did her eyes roll back normal? Could these kinds of lenses work differently in different light? Somthing to consider.....

OK, I don't know of any medical explanation for this. The only time I've ever seen the entire eye black, was after a trauma to the eye, like a bruise. Which goes thru all the stages of bruising. (discoloration...) This is very painful, and no way could account for what was witnessed.

Myself, I do believe in the spirit world, and that they can manifest themselves in weird ways.

I'd like to know more about this woman. I'd have to really talk with her.

I don't know the woman personally. All I know is that she's a Personal Support Worker and admitted to belonging to some fringe Penacostal church. I know they practice weird crap (my grandmother used to be one before becoming a Dub).
