do love Saint Saens Carnivale of Animals

The Aquarium from Carnivale of the Animals is exquisite and sublime! Find the Terence Malick film DAYS of HEAVEN and hear what composer Ennio Morricone did with this theme for the movie!

Your senses will never be the same; I promise!!

I love so many classical pieces it would be hard to pick one, but the one I play more than most is the Symphonie Fantastique, by Hector Berlioz. Here is a rendering of the 4th movement I found on youtube

Shucks thanx Terry and Crumpet for the compliment. That's one of my poems. (On Beethoven's Seventh Symphony)

I always worshipped "The Big Bee" to the point of idolatry from the time I was a little kid.

It's hard to pick a favorite however his 7th symphony is my current choice. Maybe 'cause most people go for the 5th and 9th. (love them, too)

    His late quartets are awesome.

Other favorite composers are Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, Bach, Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinski, Scriabin.

I never was too much into opera but my eldest daughter became an opera singer so I've been exposed to that too now. I adore Puccinni (sp?)

There’s so much...I have so much...these are just a few

Beethoven: since I was a teenager; will most likely always be my favourite- 5 th , 7 th , 9 th especially. Have all 9

Dvorak 9 th Symphony, Serenade for Strings(except for finale),Yo-Yo Ma Cello Concerto in b minor, saw him on PBS and had to get this CD

    Schubert Symphony #8-Unfinished

Don’t like a whole opera but love the Arias. Some of my favourite: Pavarotti-Nessun Dorma (Turandot), Placido Domingo-E lucevan le stelle (Tosca) and Montserrat Cabelle (if only I could sing like her)- Mi chiamono Mimi (La Boheme) Be forewarned: the last two can be tear jerkers if in that mood.

I have an album (Brahms Alto Rhapsody sung by Marion Anderson) that I haven’t heard in so many years. I should get it transferred. Gives me goosebumps.

Rachmaninov: Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Piano Concerto #2- I still have an album of Van Cliburn, I believe it’s Piano Concerto #2

Beethoven Piano concerto # 5-Adagio, Albinoni: Adagio ....so beautiful

I have one double CD my mom gave me which I actually listen to a lot. They’re just one movement but it’s a good way to discover new music. Saint-Saens, Faure, Satie, Bach, Massenet, Rodrigo, Debussy, Mendelssohn, Barber, Bizet

    Brother Apostate

: I have this and play it quite a lot-Joaquin Rodrigo- Concierto de Aranjuez for guitar & orchestra: 2nd movement. If you like that....I’m going to start thread for guitar favourites

MsMcDucket: Noooooooo!! Thanks for the chuckle anyway.

Terry: Thanks. She has a beautiful voice.

    Rubadub:

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

    I’m with you.

I have Sibelius-Finlandia, Grieg, quite a bit of Mozart, Schuman, Chopin....I could go on
