Are JW's generally better than average people?

You are purposely mixing up the 'bold' and the 'meek' to suit your agenda.

No agenda. I'm serious. Why does the society have such an inordinate emphasis on meekness? The bible is equally strong on boldness. How in the heck am I mixing up the two?

I asked awhile back what your agenda was and you didn't respond.

I didn't respond because I wanted to stick to ideas, not get personal. As soon as you descend in to personal attacks, there is no more dialogue or hope for meeting of minds. If I were leading anywhere, it is that the Witnesses are very selective to whom they preach. If a person does not respond satisfactorily, they were not meek. Or perhaps, they are declared 'apathetic' or not 'spiritually minded' enough? As others have suggested, there are many, many other reasons why a householder might reject the Witness message than the motives ascribed by the Witnesses.

    foundyourway :

if you have a modicum of English comprehension, you will see that I did, indeed answer the question.

    Do pay attention.

    Rosalee,

Thank you for your honest answer. There are those on this board that say that JW's aren't knowingly deceptive, that they are just a by product of exposure to the WTS mindset. I've always said that JW's knowingly lie. You have once again proved to be no exception to the rule. You lie by telling half truths and preying on the ignorant and vulnerable whom you identify as "the meek".

My words "None of us can say."

    Does that answer your question?

If not, there is nothing else to discuss.

Rosalee's smartass, insulting and arrogant answers are so typical for a jw. Such a good witness. Well now I have a more current thread to send people to see how jw's speak to exjw's or non members of the cult. Thank you Rosalee.

Then, carla, do be fair and send ALL my posts, not just the ones that feed your thoughts. Thanx.

How loving of you, I FEEL the love from Rosalee!

Thank you for clarifying that for me, and so nicely too, as I was too stupid to see it

I am guessing (since I am so unintelligent that I need it to be expounded for me) that you mean that NO ONE can honestly put God first unless they belong to the watchtower club.

I guess billions are doomed to die, just because they didnt allow themselves to be brainwashed by a multi-billion dollar printing company

I have read some of the posts in this thread. These are my thoughts.

I've had to think back through the years I was a JW 1971 to 1999 when I stopped attending meetings.

Now I could say that because of what happened to me that JW's are a nasty group of people. Because of their interference and teachings my JW wife and two JW daughters have not spoken to me for 6 years. That they caused the break up of my family forcing me to leave home and others of my children to follow. That at a time I needed help and support they turned their backs on me, and as far as I am concerned my family also.

But thinking of the JW's I knew through the years. I would say that 99% of them are "good" people. They try to live moral lives and to treat others well around them. I can say that I had some good laughs with many of them.

Brothers/Sisters who were practically round your house every day. JW familes you would go out for the day with. Those who we had round for meals. The parties we arranged for the young children of the congregation. You think you have a bond with such ones.

Then when the crunch comes where are they ? The Elder and his wife, who was round to our house often. A man with a great sense of humour and quite a few risque jokes. But who when the time came was not to be seen, except on my Judical Committee. Who afterwards spoke little to me.

On what basis do you measure that JW's are better than average people? Whats the yardstick?

Is it because they have "God" in their lives? Even some so-called "Christians" can be pretty bad at times.

Even atheists can be "good Christians".

The "ordinary" JW on a whole are no better and no worse than the average non-JW person.

Except for one thing JW's let a man-made organisation control their lives and thinking. I know that there were JW's who would have done their utmost to help me and my family. But because of WT doctrine were prevented.

Well sorry I rambled on a bit there but I was trying to put into words how I feel.

You have denounced me, I am not an idiot, Rosalee, just because you think I am, does not make it true.

    You also ignored my question:

Did you read my post on page 10? And did I attack you with that post?
