Are JW's generally better than average people?

Rosalee...they do the same type of thing in the business world (compensation with words instead of money) by promoting an hourly employee into a management position....then making them work more hours for the same or a little more money. They look for people who are content with a job title over proper compensation. Once a manager the same rules for overtime don't apply.

Joe works for $10 per hour for 40 hours a week and gets promoted to "Manager" and now is put on salary for $450 a week, but now works 65 hours a week. In essence he works an additional 25 hours a week for $50, but gets to tel everyone he is a "Manager".

Being a JW is worse, in the sense that you work for FREE all the time. In fact you end up paying them for the "priveledge" of being a JW.

When you perform the proper analysis of what you get out of being a JW vs. what you put in.....its got to be a cringer.

My final 2 cents regarding Rosalee.

I thought you to be sincere.

However, upon reading more of your posts, I have seen that you have treated some on here rather shabbily.

I consider these people my friends, some close friends.

Perhaps the anonymity of the setting has allowed you to be more abrasive and unkind in your words than you would be otherwise. That is unfortunate.

Perhaps a general apology(a sincere one) directed at those you've offended is in order.

JWD is a support group of sorts for those who have suffered due to their involvement with the cult that calls itself Jehovah's Witnesses.

A little more respect and sensitivity on your part would go a long way in making this exchange more positive for all parties involved.

    Respectfully,

You are absolutely right. An apology is order.

I apologize to lurkers, possibly ones who are sitting on the fence.

I apologize to actual JWs who may innocently stop here and see a fellow Christian lowering my standards.

Having looked around here, it would seem this local is earthy Tartarus.

Thank you for your reply Rosalee.

If I am understanding you, you believe you should apologize for your presence and activity here on JWD?

If that is your sentiment, I understand.

It cannot be denied however, that you arrived here, and chose to interact here for a reason.

The sooner you can be honest with yourself about that reason or reasons, the sooner you will find peace. And that is my wish for you.

    Respectfully,

The coined phase "Going to have a rude awakening" was never so true as when a JW finds they have been betrayed by the very foundation they put their trust in, namely MEN sitting around making decisions for them.

    Rosalee...this is a discussion board....words being exchanged....that's all....nothing more, nothing less....

You were born on the same planet as the rest of us. At some point in time, you bought into the idea that you were somehow "special" and better than those who are not JW's. If you exclusively hang around JW's then you can most certainly continue to believe that.

This is not a different planet that you are visiting....it is a discussion board. If being around people who don't think exactly as you do so completely throws you into a frenzy, than for God's sake....don't hang out here.

If this is what the WTS organized religion does to someone....I would think long and hard about the merits of its teachings.

Actually Rosalee did not apologize at all. Her statement of "apology" was more of her condemnation of the people here.

She has the nerve to imply that only she and her fellow Witnesses are Christians, Nothing could be further from the fact. You don't have to be a Witness to be a Christian.

Reading over Rosalee's posts I have come to the conclusion that she is not a very nice person and for all her bravado, she appears to be a very sad person as well.

Exactly Gary1914! I hope Rosalee can get the help she needs. Her behavior is antisocial. But close association with the WTS can have that effect on even the best of persons.

    --Rosalee

I note that Rosalee has given an apology, but carefully restricted it to those who don't disagree with her fanatical religious beliefs. Implicitly excluded from any apology whatsoever are those who don't share her extreme views, regardless of whether they were offended by her rude and condescending comments. Ironically, Rosalee commented on this thread in an effort to persuade others that JWs are actually "better" than average people, but ended up serving as an illustration of some of the undesirable character traits possessed by many JWs.

Rosalee feels no compulsion to apologize to those she believes will soon be carcasses wtih vultures pecking out their eyes. Why apologize to bird food?

If you're fortunate enough to have received an apology from Rosalee, what was it for? The only conduct she appears to be apologizing for is "lowering [her] standards." Those standards were obviously not very high to begin with, given her admitted history of dishonest conduct, so what sort of repugnant conduct did she apologize for? Hopefully, no innocent animals were involved!
