Take over Mexico and rebuild it..problem solved. Next?

I wonder if the trillions Bush spent in Iraq would have been enough to make Mexico the 51st (and 52nd, 53rd, 54th) state(s)?

A fence does not solve these problems - we don't need a fence here due to the large moat around the country. Though this doesn't stop people seeking refuge or a better life coming in by boat from Indonesia.

The solution is far from simple (and I don't profess to have a solution) as it has includes elements such as desperation (those trying to come in), greed (hiring illegals at sweatshop rates) and opportunism (criminal opportunism).

By the way, there is a case going here at the moment where someone is being prosecuted for slavery (an unusual case arising from the employment of an illegal under very poor slave like conditions...)

I seriously doubt they will build a fence. It's just "talk" so people will "think" our "leaders" are actually going to do something about it (that's what they really get paid for, to just keep people's minds "busy" and/or "pacified" and focused in the OPPOSITE Direction of what is REALLY going on). They won't build a fence because that would contradict what their real plan is, to incorporate Mexico with the USA with Canada, the NORTH AMERICAN UNION (NAU) = ONE BIG OPEN CONTINENT, NO BORDERS, that's their plan. A few links for starters...

Bush, Fox, Martin sealed the deal in 2005, and Bush and the succeeding pressies of MX and CA have met since then. It's already well along in the works (ie, many "agreements" have been entered into already and the "deals sealed" w/o oversight by Congress nor input from the American people) with the completion date for the NAU by 2010 (thanks to the CFR who dictate to America's leaders what to do: http://www.cfr.org/ ). They have given it a new "pretty" name, too, just in case people catch on, "SECURITY & PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP" (SPP). My, how nice, who wouldn't want that? :-/

"This [SPP] represents the official public beginning [3/23/05] of an ongoing series of agreements and implementations aimed at combining the economies, populations and cultures of the nations of North America into a borderless 'North American Free Trade Zone. Think: "I pledge allegiance to the Continent and to the Commerce for which it stands." "

The "REAL ID" is part of it, too, to have ID's centralized with all states DL's, and this is supposed to be completed in
    2008: http://www.citizinemag.com/commentary/commentary-0505_haroldsmith.htm

And the new Social Security Act which gives benefits to illegal aliens is also part of it, that's already passed as well: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20060518-114132-2456r.htm

    And the Super Corridor is another step for the NAU/Open Borders (which is what the CFR plan calls for), a huge, super corridor from Mexico up to Kansas: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul349.html ; http://www.house.gov/paul/tst/tst2006/tst103006.htm ;
    http://stopspp.com/stopspp/?page_id=36 .

Currently Mexican trucks are not allowed farther than 20 miles inside the USA, but this corridor will pave the way free and clear. And the end-point of the corridor in Kansas will be off-limits to Americans. The gov will be making good use of its eminent domain laws that the Supreme Court passed in 2005 in order to scoop up more land from farmers from Texas to Kansas.

Most people are not aware of what those rats are up to because the media do not report on it so you CAN know (most of the major media are CFR themselves).

    ----------

Plenty of reading you can do about it, even at the gov's own websites, and the CFR website, the SPP gov website, etc.

Or if you don't feel like reading, get yourself this new DVD for ONE BUCK ($1.00):

"THE PRETEXT FOR THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION"

http://www.onedollardvdproject.com . It has news and film of the 3 leaders at these conferences, and videos from the gov's own websites, with lots of other facts and figures, etc.

Also check google video or YouTube for those same subjects mentioned above.

Roy Beck's celebrated demonstration of the population consequences of current U.S. immigration policies has entertained and shocked audiences across the country. This video is packed with the facts and analysis that make moral and practical sense of a complex and highly contentious issue.

(He uses big colorful charts and other visual aids to drive home the impact of having 1 million people move here every year. You should see the shock on the faces of the people in the audience. You can feel their hearts sinking to the floor. The video is only 14 minutes, worth watching. Their website also has charts and is keeping tabs on all congressmen and presidential candidates as to how they are leaning on everything, including immigration, giving them "grades" and "report cards," etc. )

Numerical Effects of Immigration Legislation Since 1990
Every immigration action of Congress affects the size of the U.S. population. This section of NumbersUSA has the nation's only accounting of the numerical effect of each action. These were calculated by NumbersUSA's Director of Governmental Relations, Rosemary Jenks, and have been adjusted after being sent for review by top experts in federal agencies, Congress and Washington think tanks. If you become aware of any better calculations, let NumbersUSA know.

    Immigration by the Numbers
This is the celebrated demonstration that Roy Beck has been giving to scores of audiences across the nation, as well as on many TV programs, including C-SPAN. Using colorful, eye-catching props, he entertains and shocks audiences with the population consequences of current U.S. immigration policies. Thousands of people across the country are finding that there is no easier way to communicate their concerns about immigration to friends, relatives and fellow citizens than by showing them Roy's video.

The favorite part for many is the "gumballs" demonstration that illustrates the unethical nature of our immigration policy which drains the smartest, most energetic people from Third-World societies which desperately need their leadership. Taped before a college audience, the feature presentation is only 16 minutes. It is ideal for use in programs of luncheon organizations, church study groups, college and high school classes, and simply at home among friends and relatives.

Gaylord Nelson, Father of Earth Day, and other commentary from environmental groups and experts. National journals have praised Roy's "compassionate" approach to a sensitive subject. Too Close for Comfort
This 25-minute documentary examines how quadrupled immigration numbers are driving urban sprawl, traffic congestion, school overcrowding, wage stagnation and widening inequality in the United States. Interspersed are five min-presentations by author Roy Beck on why the American Quality of Life is under such threat. Included is the much-talked-about "gumballs" demonstration that illustrates the global moral issues involved.

Sick of the Traffic, Sprawl & Congestion?
U.S. Census Bureau Urbanized Area data shows that sprawl worsens dramatically the more a city grows in population. The evidence is clear: sprawl cannot be tamed unless Congress stops forcing U.S. population growth. This fold-out poster shows where the U.S. Census Bureau says U.S. population growth is headed if Congress continues current immigration policies.

    The Environmental Choice is Yours
Since the first Earth Day in 1970, U.S. population has grown by more than 80 million. But how much U.S. population will increase over the next 50 years depends on the choices Congress makes. This fold-out poster shows that the American people, through replacement-level fertility rates have chosen a stabilizing future, but Congress, by quadrupling immigration over replacement-level has chosen never-ending population growth.

There are many Americans that hire Mexicans as cheap labour paying them very little for their work. If it hadn't been for these the illegal immigrants would have to go back to their country. But seriously the Americans can't afford to let this to go on because they will get totally inundated with Mexicans crossing over to what is to them the promised land.

In Europe there is a similar problem with illegal immigrants coming over from Eastern Europe or from the sea especialy from Spain, they are mainly Moslems and we have enough of them as it is. Unlike the Mexicans they are totally unassimilable due to their religion, they are radically alien to European culture.

If I knew I could slip across the border into Canada and get a job there making, say 10x what I'm making here, I'd very likely do it.

Think about the temptation for an average working person in the US to be able to go to Canada and make $200 an hour, $1600 for an 8 hour day, $8,000 a week!

That may give this a little more perspective.

You seem to be under the misapprehension that everybody in Canada is a pastry chef.

When I hear people railing about "illegals," I tell them that I am a 20th-generation "illegal alien." My ancestors on both sides came to this country in the early 1700's. They only needed to kill Indians / Native Americans to establish legal residency.

A lot of people from the U.S. cross the border to live in Mexico as well, a fact that seems to be ignored. The folks on the southern side of the border don't seem to be concerned, even though the norteamericanos don't pick a single tomato or clean up an ounce of filth for their much more gracious hosts in their adopted land.

    Regards,
