So why does Johnsons Baby oil say its great for removing makeup then.
I know!! It says that because it DOES take it off of your lashes very well. They just don't tell you where the pigment goes after that!!!

I just use a mild soap in a face washing cloth (the microfiber kind, very soft) and very warm water to remove eye makeup. I don't scrub, but instead I just hold the cloth to each eye for a few seconds. Usually everything comes off fine. It takes a lot of water.
Crumpet, try MAC 'Gently Off Eye & Lip Makeup Remover'. http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT7705&PRODUCT_ID=PROD73340
I use a cotton square to take off my eye makeup just prior to washing my face. It works great without leaving any makeup behind. All the black liner and mascara comes off.
Hopefully not too many will see this...... me w/o any makeup. Only wear it when I go out and then very minimally. I am painting today, but at least let my hair down own of the clippy thingy. LOL

Edited to add: Thanks BB for the suggestion of the mineral foundation. I'll have to try that. Otherwise I just use a dab of foundation, a little pressed powder and some lipgloss. Use either Dove or Ivory to wash my face 2x a day. I'm not a sun worshipper either---- don't want that leathery look.
Juni you are a very attractive grandmother! Whatcha painting today then, assuming its not faces?!
juni,
You just inspired me to take my hair band out and let it down!!! That feels so much better!! Thanks!!!
edited to add: Just a bit of advice about washing your face. If you really like the dove or ivory, you should at least use the liquid forms. The bar soaps are incredibly drying to the skin and can cause sensitivity and irritation. Just wanted to share!!
Thanks gelcat for the advice; didn't know that. My skin isn't very dry though. In between. But I will look into it. Ah yeah.....doesn't it feel good to get those things out of your hair?
Hi Crumpy girl! I'm painting window frames in the kitchen. Finishing up the re modeling job in there. Then can hang some wood roman shades. You know the bamboo stick things?
love to you gals, Juni
love the way I look in it (compared to without that is!)...hate the hassle of applying it. *sigh* what's a girl to do?
As to eye makeup remover - the Body Shop's Chamomile remover is wonderful...works like a charm, is reasonably priced, and has no oil. Speaking of the Body Shop - for those of you who don't like the feel/taste of lipstick (I totally relate!) the Body Shop's Cheek and Lip Stain is fantastic. It really does stain your lips for hours. I think it only comes in one shade though, unfortunately, and it's not a shade that's flattering to all skin tones. (I DON'T work for the Body Shop btw. har!)
oh yeah...definitely agree with the poster above. No matter how mild it claims to be, never ever use something with "soap" in its name on your face!
I love the mineral foundation - a few swirls of a big brush and voila! even skin tones, very natural looking!I've wondered about those. So they are worth getting? I'm sick of my face feeling like goo every day....
brinjen - I definately think it's worth it. It takes a bit of practice, you really only need a small amount, and it feels like (and looks like) you aren't wearing any makeup. I didn't pay alot - Avon sells it, and now most of the top cosmetic companies sell a similar product at the drug store, it's no more expensive than some liquid foundations.
I took the advice and got myself some mineral foundation, tried it for the first time today. I'm hooked. Evened my skin tones perfectly, didn't look like I was wearing makeup and for the first time I didn't come home from work screaming to get the gunk off my face. Thank you!
