Regardless of whether anyone believes that the Passover meal was also the first "Memorial Meal", the fact remains that at the time of partaking of the bread and wine - the disciples were a bunch of arguing misfits. Chosen by God, but still unanointed.
By misfits, I mean that they were not yet the spiritual elite that we believe they became - they were a cross section of the community - the "everyday Joes". They argued who was the greatest, they said that they would never abandon Jesus (yet they did) etc etc.
What was missing ? The anointing !
So how could the JW concept of "anointed only to partake" be correct?
I like the phrase "anointed apparant" and I thank you all for putting your JW heads back on (as painful as it seemed).
For those who are still JWs here, I ask that you truly examine the history of the WTBTS, and see where it took a different course.
It was Rutherford, who seemingly used the organisation for his own gain - and now many sincere JWs are left to pick up the pieces of his distorted doctrines - they are gradually clearing out some of the "dead wood":
1914 has changed
1935 has gone
Various dates have been "buried".
Ask why. As far as I am aware, the two classes of JWs were Rutherford's idea. I wonder how long before it too is changed.
Well, thanks to the 1935 New Light, the anointed are no longer anything special - so maybe it is happening.
As far as being happy for those who are "anointed". I am - TRULY. My problem is that not just the 144,000 (or how ever many there have been over the years) are anointed - anyone who sincerely asks will receive.
Ask and you shall receive - knock and the door will be opened - "In those days I will pour out my Spirit on everyone" etc etc
I am now off for a glass of wine and some bread of my own - my own personal communion.
