Successfull appeals are few and far between..Why waste any more time?..They have all the power you give them. How much more do you think they deserve?...OUTLAW
I agreed with this poster as soon as I read his reply....and I still agree with him even after your "good" news. They make me sick. The "love" and caring to get the stray sheep to come back? HAH! More like a witch hunt (no offense meant to any witches) the way this "religion" operates! Doggone it---I came out and TOLD tTHEM I didn't want to be "known as One of Jehovah's Witnesses any longer" because of their hideous behavior and the cover-ups they hid so well....never telling ANY of us before our baptism into this cult! I say to tell them to hit the road! Who needs'em!
hugs,

Flipper, maybe you were baptized before the legal change in the baptism contract. If you were baptized under the old vows the Society doesn't have authority to dis-fellowship you since they never in-fellowshiped you. If that's the case, and you mentioned law suit, the Society is aware you didn't agree to a legal joining like the new baptized people do now.
Maybe they like you and want to get you back in the club.
Maybe they're gonna blind side ya.
Maybe none of the above. -

flipper...
that is good news...it is not unheard of despite my early pessimistic tone. I dont recall you sending a letter, but I doubt your thoughts of legal action had anything to do with it. I think it was the incredibly shaky ground they had in the first place. They could tell you were not going to roll over and die. Now...do you meet with them? Yes. Dont make them rethink the whole thing...but be very very careful what you say. Record the conversation incognito if you can. Dont answer these two questions:
do you believe the FDS is being used by Jehovah to provide spiritual food at the proper time?
do you believe Jehovah is using his earthly organization? (or some such similar nonsense)....
If you do answer, LIE!.. tell them with a heartfelt, "of course, but I have been hurt and stumbled. It will take a long time for my heart to heal"
Make a few Sunday meetings at your new locale....go occasionally....for show....since you are inactive, you cannot just turn in phantom time, they will want to study with you and maybe put you in the Pioneers Assist Others program (a bulls*it all talk no action program...)...so just tell them you are not ready for that at this time..then start fading again....
hope you find peace and your parents find peace that you are not D/F.,
Please advise, Snakes. I respect your opinion
thanks for the vote of confidence. I am just one mere human, and my opinion is just that..an opinion...glad if i did help...thats all I ever wanted to do as an elder when I was one.

Now listen right up now, you must first and foremost realize that the situation is stacked against you from the beginning, sometimes I mean just once in a while you may find honest hearted elders who sincerely want to be fair and possibly be forgiving to those in the congregation knowing that they too are imperfect, but the system is controlled by the GB so forget being fair like in a court of law.
You can't even have a advocate to represent you rights even according to the by laws of society.
Think about it!

The most likely thing here is that they realize you should not have been DF'ed but they don't want to
undo the DF because they have you where they want you.If you don't go, I am 99% certain that they will DF you for some charge like apostasy
I am glad I was wrong. You must have gotten a legal eagle advising the appeals committee.
Good for you. You are practically untouchable now, so fade away quickly. As long as they
don't get a new legitimate charge against you, they will probably leave you alone. I would
go to the "encouragement session" and stay for an hour, tell them thanks and never look
back. You might want to take it slower than that, but I doubt they will try to continue
"encouraging" you once you ignore that counsel. -

What do you think of some suggestions I've had on this thread if after I'm dfed to call the circuit overseer or district overseer and say I've been falsely accused and dfed, slandered by my ex-wife, it's given my non believing wife an incredibly bad example of the witness organization, and a travesty of justice has occured here. I don't know what this will accomplish but it will show my 80 year old witness parents I'm fighting the false allegations and I've been screwed over by the elders.
Mr Flipper:
This may work, but instead of the CO go over his head to the Service desk. There is another final appeal, although they will not call it so as the KS books says,
there is no further right to appeal. However, if an individual persists in believing a serious error in judgment has occurred, the appeal committee should inform him that he may submit his allegations in writing to the appeal committee within seven days for transmittal to the branch office.
It says to do it in "writing" but my brother called the service desk when his appeal committee upheld the DF decision and he actually was able to hinder the announcing of his DF'ing. The man said, "we will look into it and let you know". He said there will be no announcement until we have done so and are satisfied".
Remember, they do not call it AN APPEAL because as it says "there is no further right" to one. It is the "However" statement you must focus on. It is the only thing these legalists recognize. So just say, "I wish to have someone look into my case as I believe, "a serious error in judgement has occurred" and state the reasons. Stick to the facts, like not two witnesses, circumstantial, logical explanation for why you were there etc. Only add the stumbling of you wife as a final consequence as a result of the injustice. Not the main reason!
No guarantees, but it seemed to work for him.
Sure the elders have whispered into peoples ears that he is essentially df'd, but there has been no official announcement. Every elder and many dubs know that a person isn't officially df'd until the announcement is made "from the platform". Likewise, a person is not reinstated until it is announced. As a result, some have chosen not to shun him because they are in the end legalists too. He can also tell people who ask his "status" that he is unsure because the Society was looking into his allegations of abuse by the committee and there isn't an announcement as of yet.
Good luck

I did send them one of those official letters that you've seen on these sites about them not slandering my character or I'll sue them. You know, a preformed 7 page letter which considers the dfed ones rights. So was it the letter?
This is a landmine situation. They have "decided" (with help from Mother) not to DF you. But they still want a meeting with you, to "encourage" you. Go back and re-read Snakesinthetower's "two questions you should not answer" and memorize his suggested response ("Of course, but...it will take some time to heal"). In fact, print that baby out and keep it handy. You will probably need it.
The letter you sent raised some suspicions about your mindset - you're "this close" to apostate thinking and they don't like that. You can be sure that the instructions from Bethel included verifying where your head is at and where you got that letter (which, if you took it off the web, you can bet they've seen before).
If it's important to stay "in" and fade, walk carefully here.
