Scully:
I didn't go to college for a total of 5 years so that I could scrub "skid marks" out of other peoples' underwear.
LMAO at that one... make 'em do their own damn laundry!... (although my mom always got mad if we did, because our loads were "too small")
I usually just have 2 loads a week (sometimes 3) to do...whites, linen/towels and everything else...and I have the whites down to just socks now. Sometimes (yesterday for example), I took my laundry to the laundromat...and had them do it...yeah, it cost me $16, but you know what? I can do other things instead of sitting in the laundromat...maybe one day I will buy a washer/dryer.... although I did end up having to sit in another laundromat for an hour because they were going to charge me $14 to wash/dry my 2 pillows....no thanks... I read the first 3 chapters of CoC and ate chinese food while waiting for them to get done....productive hour.
skid marks....ummm....if I am not doing my own laundry that week, I either wait and do them later....or just throw them away...its not worth the embarassment.

restrangled, I know you think that doing their laundry for them is being loving, but I've not come to that conclusion. It's enabling them to be helpless. Making them do their own laundry teaches them to be productive and self-sufficient. Which kind of person do you find better or more attractive, a self suficient one or a helpless one? Which kind do you suspect has more self pride?

Snakes, you had me LOL because my sons will do their own laundry ....one item at a time which makes me crazy so I forbid them unless they have a full load. Well, ofcourse that does not coincide with their social/school/sleep schedule.
So its back to mom.......I can't help but laugh and then....SWEAR Big Time!!!!!!!

Are they not 'playing' you to get out of doing it themselves? Maybe you could start bleaching coloreds by "accident" and then they might think twice about who should be doing the wash . . . just a thought . . .

Train em!
Laundry is no problem at my house. I do my clothes and the towels. My wife does her clothes and sheets and pillow cases.
Cooking, I cook three and sometimes four days a week.
We share housework responsibilities. Works great.
